PS3 overshooting?

I've long been a fan of the Gran Tourismo series. I'm an actual life gear head and love the detail with which you have been able to tweak gears, ride heights and even tire pressure since the original debut title. I've enjoyed past iterations so much so, I almost purchased a PS3 specifically for the title in anticipation of what it was going to provide. Better judgement however did tell me to wait for the games reviews to come out before making such a purchase. Now, after GS's recent review (and reviews by other Gameing sites) I have to say I am disappointed in what I've seen and read.

Granted I have not played the game, I'll make that clear. But the fact GT5 has been and is a flagship title of Sony's, and after the long delays that have been repeatedly announced in order to perfect teh final product and the promised overall greatness of teh game, to see consistant 8/10 scores is to say the least, disappointing. It makes me wonder if Sony gameing devision has a case of the "Molyneuxs". Offering and promising more than it is able to provide in the end. An incredible machine with HUGE processing power but is ultimately difficult to program for, graphically gorgeous games like Heavenly Sword which ultimately fall short on content. The PS3 has defiantely had it's successes, don't get me wrong. Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2 have always intrigued me and make me want more great gaming content on teh Sony mega-console. And of course 8.0 is not a bad score for GT5. In fact, I'm sure there are many many MANY fans who are enjoying the title for all it offers right now. I was however expecting more than what I'm being told was delivered in the end.

PS3 360 Wii debate

I'm sure I am the 10,000,000th person to write on this but what the hell.

Personally I am sick of all this fanboy crap.

If I were to place myself in any camp I suppose it would be the 360 as I already have one and I love it but come on, that in no means defines me as a 360 fanboy. It does not mean that I hate Sony/Nintendo.  I actually got reported the other day for "Unfriendly behavior" by what I can only assume was a fan boy when I pointed out, simply, that sony's game division earning had fallen over the past several years.  Frankly, I don't care if my "rank" got reduced (which from what I can tell it is actually higher than it was before) but the fact that someone took what I had to say to such a degree as to report me for insults is just silly.  So to all the fanboys out there please continue to report me but realize that it's just sad you have to take things that far with someone who is pretty much neutral in all this crap.

Buy what you want, play what you want. (My new mantra)

Why MMO

Many people believe that MMO's are too involved that they are too much to take on.  Granted there are some folks that will never like the genre.  As the old saying goes "different strokes for different folks".  But for myself I will probably never go back to the old style of gameing again.  I tried a single player game (Oblivion) for the first time in many monthes last night and found that while I did have a great time and enjoyed myself I missed the fun of talking on vent to the guy next to me, or sharing with my guild/clan in the fat loot we just got.  It scares me a little bit that sitting in front of my comp can almost feel as social as going out to the bars but thaks to the MMO genre it has done just that.
