is the i7/i5 worth the jump in price? i have always used AMD in about 5 computers that i have built... what are the pros/cons on the intel chipsets?

Hey guys, Been a real long time since i surfed these forums, got really out of touch with computer hardware in general... so, somehow my computer died recently, and i have decided to rebuild it.. pretty much from scratch

I need: Mobo, CPU, RAM, maybe a video card, 1-1.5TB HDD

Currently have an out of date PCI-E Vid-Card (would like a new one but budget is important) if you can fit it in my price range, preferably an HD capable with HDMI for a HDTV (normally use a 22" monitor)

I will be building around a 550W power supply & a bunch of HDD's (300GB, 160GB Sata & 160GB, 80GB IDE) - i have a good case and pretty much dont need anything else. Probably will be picking up a 1-1.5TB HDD too..

so with my budget being $500 total for that, what should i get? I basically use the computer for media, internet, the occasional word processing. so nothing crazy, just want it to last for a while

I just bought a new 22" HDCP Acer Monitor, cant be more happy with it.. i plan on using it for a tv and getting rid of my huge old 27" CRT TV... i was wondering whats the best HD TV tuner on the market? are the ATI HDTV Wonder cards any good? whats the deal? are their PCI Express cards?

 any sort of knowledge on the subject will be appreciated... thanks!
