sounds like you need a 'newer' TV, you really do need a TV with a 60Hz refresh rate otherwise you will be slightly slower than everyone else. I didnt think new TVs would even think about not supporting PAL 60, seems kind of stupid and a pretty terrible TV

EDIT: Just saw it was SD as well, curious as to why you would purcahse this television...?

Well the thing is i had a very old television with a big back on it talking about 10-15 years old. This televison plays pal 60 etc and is fine. I purchased this television which is a 32" phillips flat tv. Which is only around 4 years old and this doesnt support pal 60! strange no?

probably should have researched it a little more :P but it is kind of stupid that that TV wouldnt be 60Hz

I was a gift from my parents because they have purchased a new television so i thought this is good can now play it on a decent screen and its the only game which doesnt play in pal 50. I have trawled through the television settings and cant find anything untoward. just seems very strange that it doesnt support pal 60

Hi I recently got a new television and realised it wouldnt play my xbox on pal 60 so i changed to pal 50 and i could get a picture. Every game i own plays on Pal 50 like fifa 10 etc but Modern Warfare 2 doesnt play on pal 50 it says to change to Pal 60. however when i change to pal 60 the picture goes off and goes grey. Is there a way around this? I havent got Hdmi or Hd ports on my tele and am just playing with scart (yellow red and white) plugged into side.

[QUOTE="Senor_Kami"]Make sure you're plugging the yellow cable into the proper port. You'll get the worst possible SD image, but you shouldn't be getting the weird color issues you're describing. Either way, i'd suggest hopping on Amazon and picking up a $2 HDMI cable and step your picture quality game up.tbag23
Just bumping this for more opinions. I tried it again last night and the picture just came on and then went off straight away but still sound and a funny colour on screen. Like i say it does work on all other teles in my house and the sky and freeview work on all the scarts on the tele so its not the scarts on the tele either. Which makes me think its the setup of the television? shouldnt scarts be plug in and play?

can someone help guys its driving me insane having a new televison and still having to play my xbox on my old tele

Recently accuired a phillips LCD 32" television to replace my old 27" big televison of about fifteen years. However im struggling to get a picture on the phillips television through my xbox. I have tried all scarts (side, and two in back) and get some sound but a purple/grey picture. I know its not my xbox as it works on the old television fine. Anybody know what it could be?
