I don't mind paying for my Xbox Live. It's not a huge amount of money. I think Microsoft can remedy the backlash by giving its members more free stuff and making apps like Netflix accessible to all owners. So take note microsoft. Why don't you give Gold members free dlc to certain games, maybe through in a free movie rental or two from the Live video service, a free arcade game or two. Microsoft has the power to compete head to head with Playstation plus but I think their reliance on COD and Halo fans shelling out extra to play multiplayer is whats keeping them from making changes.
COD 2 came out in 2005 and activision still supports the server for it, even though hardly anyone plays it. EA is a very greedy company and has terrible business practices. They are one of the biggest reasons the whole game industry has become so corrupt. Activision is not much better, but it was EA that started most of the trends...shutting down servers, charging for online passes, making poor sequels that have very little new content, axeing the game manuals, etc. They should just change their name to FU games. New motto "If its in the wallet, its in the game".
Ya know whats funny...yeah, PC versions are usually a little more detailed, but how much do you spend on your pc to run the latest games? ALOT more than the base price it costs to buy a Xbox 360 or PS3 which doesnt need to be upgraded every 6 months to play the latest games. You guys just whine cause you suck at using a gamepad and get your fannies handed to you in mulitplayer games. 2000 and up PC to play Dragon Age or a 300 dollar system? I think most of us can live without a few textures. Maybe PC stands for Pathetic Crybabies.
