Xbox console sales are what they are.. despite that, more people are playing on Xbox consoles right now than ever before in the history of the brand (thanks to cross-gen support, digital libraries, and live service games).. \
Where is this figure coming from? Are you grouping Xbox One and Xbox Series console sales together?

Years ago you were telling us Phil Spencer was going to lead Xbox to the promise land. You would go on and on about their potential and promise. And would even dare to dream of a day where Xbox would overtake PlayStation. But today you literally just tried to spin Xbox games boosting PlayStation hardware over Xbox hardware and PlayStation copies of Xbox Studio games wildly outperforming Xbox software sales as a win... What the hell has Xbox done to you?! If I told Antwan from 2017-2018 that this is where we'd end up, you wouldn't believe it. Not a chance.
The negative effects of brand loyalty are on full display here
i'm getting that from Microsoft:
"What I can say sitting here today, from our decisions on cloud, on Game Pass, on console, right now we have more Xbox console users than we've ever had in the history of Xbox."
clearly they are referring to all Xbox consoles to include the Xbox One and the Series X|S.. and last time i checked, $70 for a retail sale or $20 for a Game Pass subscription is the same no matter if it's on a One or a Series.. 🤷♂️
As far as Phil Spencer as the leader of the Xbox brand, look at the state of the Xbox brand from when Phil Spencer took over in 2014 until now:
2014:
- Monthly-Active-Users: 37 million
- Xbox gaming revenue: $8.6 billion
- Xbox gaming studios: 5
2024:
- Monthly-Active-Users: 500 million
- Xbox gaming revenue: $21.5 billion
- Xbox gaming studios: 40
those results speak for themselves..
as far as brand loyalty, you're the one still living in a pre-2013 era.. you still view everything through the lens of console wars.. meanwhile, the rest of us have moved on and are embracing the idea of games being available in as many places as possible..
