No. None of them have been enough of an improvement over the GCN one to warrant buying. Though it's kind of hard to seem like a new game when anytime you start a new game it's completely randomized.

Why would you want to play it though, when you could play the wii version?

I prefer portable versions of games. Besides, the Wii one will be on par with N64 graphics, I'm sure 3DS can pull it off. Plus it's in 3D.
How was the DS Lite "so much better" than the DS Phat? It was just a slim version.

Ever compared the screens? Battery life?
Plus making a system that for a lot of games is held with only one hand, thinner and lighter is a huge thing
I held out on PS2 till the slims came out cause PSone taught me it was coming. I'm not going to wait for the 3DS. And I hated the DS, so thats saying a lot
I thought achievements were one of the biggest innovations this generation. They are extremely addictive. Especially to OCDs like me.
For those who don't get it, play Dead Rising. Certain achievements unlocked things in the game like the megaman cannon
I'm extremely hyped for it, and I HATED the DS and it's crappy game library
MGS3, Starfox, Ocarina of Time, and the completed version of the submarine tech demo were enough for me. I just hope Nintendo can keep the ball going. It took over a year for DS to get that many good games I wanted
Again, the N64 replaced the SNES.ThePlothole
That's like saying GBC wasnt the next gen GB, or GBA the next gen GBC
It's just an upgrade of the DS
No. PSP Slim is just an upgrade to PSP. It got more RAM/TV out, but no exclusive games at all.
PS3 slim is just an upgrade to PS3. PS2 slim is just an upgrade to PS2, PSone is just an upgrade to PS1
DS lite is just an upgrade to DS. GBA SP is just an upgrade to GBA
DSi is DS2
Howd you get it working on an iphone? I tried it with a friends and PSP doesnt support the DUN profile
The Wii was launched with actual retail titles. All the DSi got was a few DD games. The Wii was available worldwide in November, so as to take full advantage of the holiday rush. The DSi was available during November in Japan, but was held back until April everywhere else. The Wii succeeded and replaced the GCN. The DSi runs alongside the DS Lite. The DSi is not a next gen DS because that is not how Nintendo has treated it.

That's not what next gen hardware means.
It doesnt become not-next gen due to a poor launch/marketing. N64 had a crappy launch, it was still the next gen to SNES.
At the risk of reductio ad absurdum: So you're saying DSi could have been a thousand times more powerful than even the PSP, with a terabyte of RAM, a direct neural connection to the brain, and still wouldnt be next gen if it had a bad launch? It's the hardware that makes the hardware next gen, not how Nintendo handles it.
DSi is a next gen DS, because it has more processing power, ram, and the same firmware/internet features Wii got. It is as much a next gen system as Wii was
The DSi doesn't have anything better then the DS.
Jaysonguy
DSi has 4 times the RAM versus DS, double the processing power, online infrastructure/downloadable games, upgradeable firmware, an SD slot, a new input device (camera), faster wifi
Wii got 3 times the RAM versus GCN, double the processing power, online infrastructure/downloadable games, upgradeable firmware, an SD slot, a new input device (motion sensing via infrared camera), wifi
Please tell me how it's not the next gen to DS.
[QUOTE="Ratchet_Fan8"]some lame hand-heldCherokee_JackNintendo has another handheld out besides the DS? Why haven't I heard of this? They have the DSi which is also a lame handheld, it's a joke compared to PSP. They added a 0.3 mp camera which can't record video, PSP's is 1.3 and came out 2 years ago. They added 12 MB of RAM (bringing it to a total of 16 MB). PSP had 36 MB 3 years ago, has 68 MB now (4 of which is VRAM). They added a music player, which can't play MP3s and the photo viewer program rejects any photo not taken by the DSi itself. Due to using cartridges, developers can't afford to waste space by including firmware updates, so there will be DSi games that require you to connect your DSi to a PC/internet to update it before you can play the game. They removed the GBA slot, removing the ability to play some DS games. Added territorial lockout, and used a smaller/weaker battery. And added yet another charge port, instead of using USB which would have made the SD slot more useful as well.
What's even worse is almost everything they add to the DSi could have been added to the existing DSs via a flash cart. The web browser they sold added RAM to the DS. They've added cameras before. They could have simply put the new firmware on a cart with extra RAM, a reversible camera, and an SD slot.
