My phylosophy class was recently talking about literalists and non-literalists.

Did you know that Literalists take everything in their Bible to be true? That's right. They believe that joshua stopped the sun, that God really did create the world in 7 days (that's 24 hours), and that judgement day is coming december 21 2012. Huh?

This brings me to my point. Do not take everything you hear literally!

Try to understand. on the bus ride home, me and my friends were arguing about which bands were good and which ones weren't we went through AC/DC, the beatles, and on to modern bands. that's when I said "Oh, man, Linkin Park is the bestest".

My friend immediatly looked at me with a funny smirk on his face and said "NNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yes. He did look like an ass.

After 15 or so minutes of arguing, I stopped him and said:

"dude, not literally. When I say 'this sucks balls', it doesn't mean that the situation is acctually on its knees, sucking on someone elses sweaty scrotum."

Sorry for the term, but it had to be said. My other friends laughed, and akward silence came into play.

Lesson: Don't ever take anything litterally, and if you do, don't go on and on about it. You will look stoopid and humiliated, plus, even if you are right, after much argument, you will be the ass of the joke. somewhere around there.
