Who Remembers GeoMod?

No, geomod wasn't some sort of amazing mod to a game but instead was the engine Red Faction and Red Faction 2 ran on. But who has heard of it? Or remembers it? I am personally amazed by how few gamers I talk to these days have any idea what I'm talking about when I say "GeoMod." And ontop of that Red Faction was probably overlooked for being a game where you can actually blow holes in all kinds of stuff! Of course plenty of each level in the game was indestructible but it has more of a destructible environment then any FPS I know of and was made 'way' back in 2001! Not even the new apparently be all end all FPS Crysis lets you affect more of the environment then some of the trees and shrubs and stuff. But with that you could blow apart a wall and get into a "secure" bunker or make sure that those guards don't have any cover to pop out from behind to shoot you! What happened? Did everyone look at the bran new system that let gamers really blow holes in things (that didn't require pressing "the action button" in two or three situations) and decide "It's only a fad." I still play the game from time to time for the sheer glee of tearing stuff apart with a rocket launcher. Which also has a little surprise, which is that the rockets can't go forever! I was very surprised to pop into a two player game with a friend where both people start in a little fortress in the side of a cliff, with a canyon separating them, and fire off a rocket at his base only to discover it can't cover the distance before the fuel runs out and it drops to the canyon floor! What that created was a sort of rocket mortar war that brought physics into a gaming equation I'd never seen before and I felt just made it all the more satisfying to lob the rocket high above the his base to watch it hit it's peak and drop right into a window and kill my friend while he frantically tried to do the same to me! Enough ranting from me though, I want to know what everyone else thinks about GeoMod! Or at least those who know what it is.
