Destruction. Desperation. Annihilation. Hope. Deliverance. Hero. Advent Rising.

Just checked out the new Advent (Rising) Trilogy homepage, specifically the videos, and I gotta tell ya, this game looks like it's going to kick.

If you're not familiar with the game or science fiction literature in general, it won't mean much to you that it's penned by acclaimed sci-fi writer Orson Scott Card. To those of us that DO know about him, it means "suh-WEET!!!"

In the far future, races are measured in greatness based on their benevolence and their generosity. The Seekers have given technology and civilization to countless races, although they have a secret agenda. In secret, they're seeking out the mythological race that is said to surpass their unquestioned greatness. Seeking out a race that is thought to be all but extinct. A race so advanced and powerful, they are revered as God-like. This race, throughought the known universe, is simply called "human."

Aw, yeah, baby!!! Doesn't that give you chills? I know it does me. Seriously, though. Although this is probably the most ambitious game of the decade (the game designers set out with the intention to make the "Star Wars" of the gaming world, an epic trilogy that games coming after it will be measured against. And yes, the first three SWs that were released) the actual gameplay looks like it'll be able to stand up to it's own monumental standards. Set over a Trilogy of games, you get all kinds of crazy powers, apparently. I'm not so sure about the fact that it's a Trilogy, though. The 3rd game will probably be on XBox 2, and if it's not, or if the first one sucks, I probly won't play it. I don't do PC, because consoles will always be better. I read in a magazine preview that by the end of the 3rd game, you'll almost literally be Neo, capable of moving mountains. Whatever, though. All I can do is wait it out. Shucks.

If you took the time to read this, be sure and check out the official page on the game's space here on gamespot.
