Ok, so. I'm finishing up a tour in Iraq within the next couple of weeks. Gamespot is in my favorites bar, next to Gmail, Facebook, ICHC, and the hub for my lame ass Iraqi ISP, which "garuntees" a 368kb/s connection, but has never downloaded faster than 3.2kb/s for the past year. So I'm still trying to figure out where the other 364 kilobytes are going. Anyway, Gamespot has been through a lot. I remember sneaking onto the site when it first opened years ago during Computer Science classes as a freshman in high school. It was the best source of news and reviews at the time (Gamespy and IGN have always been lame as hell; don't kid yourself). One day GS decided to make people pay for half the crap on the site, dubbing them Game$pot, so I faded away from the place for a good year before coming back to it. Eventually they came to their senses, created a new layout, and only charged money if you wanted to experience the luxuries. Good move Gamespot. I had another account that I registered the day they allowed them (June 14 2004 or something?), but the name was lame and it was linked to a defunct e-mail address, so I made a new one. I had mysteriously automatically reached level 8, whatever that means, and now I get to start over back at 1. Oh well. I think this time I'd like to actually add all the games from my rediculously large collection and take part in commenting on things, and reviewing.
My gaming "career" has been long, and I am proud of it. I remember the first time I beat my brother in 'Boxing' on my Atari 2600. I remember getting stomped by said brother in 'Excitebike' for days. I remelumber getting a Super Nintendo for Christmas. I remember getting a Sega too. I remember beating Star Fox, Ocarina of Time, and Halo. I remember getting an Xbox the day it came out (November 15th?) and stealing it out of my mom's closet, putting a telescope in the box as a decoy, and playing it until she 'gave' it to me on Christmas, without anyone every finding out about this. I created one of the most famous maps in Age of Empires - Castle Blood. I remember my first Starcraft LAN party, and being a star for showing everyone how a Zerg rush is done correctly. I remember yelling "AWP AWP, Double doors!" countless times at Counter-Strike LANS. I remember jeep launching at Halo LANS. I was the first person in the world to have Sulfuras (Koops, Firetree), the first on my server to have Thunderfury, server first MC, BWL, and Naxx kills and clears. I remember being stuck in Iraq with nothing but my Xbox as my friend. Ok, I lied. Two of them were red ringed to death; but all 3 are on a boat on their way back to the United States as I type this. Most recently, I remember getting to level 67 in Nazi Zombies in co-op with my friend, without Xbox live avalible, and after the fact, going on Google to look up strategies to get further only to find out that no one has even passed 45 with four people. It's ok world, we'll be back soon to show you whats up. We're coming for that ass online again too, you probably didn't get enough of HNIC in COD4.
I guess all I'm saying is:
Hello world, nice to meet you again. I know no one will read this, but that makes it even more fun.
