Oh man Grid was so much better, those packed races and awesome crashes were just so much more interesting.

Borderlands easily.

DA:O's setting is just too generic plus the game is soooo boring and slow.

None of them sounded that appealing to be honest... all been there done that. Out of them all I guess Rome 2.

My dream for the series is to one day have a TW game set during WWII where you can play as one faction on a global scale where the real time battles are a lot broader in scope and the diplomacy plays a much larger role. It will be a while before the average computer is capable of such a game but it would be incredibly fun. Theres a long list of scenarios that I can think of that would be incredibly fun to play out.

I mean think about it... if there was ever any one conflict deserving of 'Total War' status it was WWII without a doubt.

Dr_Brocoli

You cant play WWII with the system TW uses of moving regiments around. And a game already exists from your description, its call Company of Heros. Or if you want diplomacy then play the new Hearts of Iron.

Like I said in my other post obviously the way battles play out would have to revamped. CoH is nothing like the game I described it's a small scale story based RTS, only similarities beings its genre and setting.

Hearts of Iron is too complicated and comes across as a chore rather than an entertaining game, the lack of real time battles make confrontations rather anticlimactic not to mention you can't really use superior strategy to win against a stronger force.

Anyways I'm a big total war fan but the series is really starting to stagnate and I think them doing something new would be really nice especially a conflict that really shaped the world we live in today and is still in living memory.

The reason people can't comprehend a WWII TW game is because they think of Medieval TW or Empire or whatever but with Tanks and machine guns.

Obviously the battles wouldn't be the same, line all your guys up and charge them into each other. If they ever did a WWII TW game then clearly they would have to make the battles playout differently, god people just can't be forward thinking sometimes.

Only while playing with friends as we all talk over Skype while in game. Otherwise it's 5.1 surround sound.

I'd like it to be in the hands of Volition, 'cause they actually know how to make a fun open world game.

As for the setting, Moscow, Paris, Tokio or Singapore.

Baranga

Then go play Saint's Row? Which while fun is a finger painting compared to the masterpiece that is GTA: IV.

Hey they do that over here in Australia like $104 for a used game instead of $110 for new.
