New machine
by the_tankhead on Comments
I bought another machine a few days ago, and a few buttons of e-bay. The arcade machine is World Rally Championship and runs great, but seems to have something wrong with the monitor and has lost it's green(i think it just needs adjusting). What i really wanted it for was the monitor and it's board(exspecially the degaussing circuit), because it's a 26" like the mortal kombat one and would be good as a spare or to replacement for the current one because the colour is kind of a washed out at the bottom of the screen.

Kind of stuffed the degausing circuit
by the_tankhead on Comments
Well what happened was that we sent to much voltage to the degaussing circuit(the degaussing circuit stops the magnetism on the monitor screen, u know when u run a magnet over a tv or monitor) by plugging it into the wrong plug on the powerboard. it started to melt the outer casing of the wires and smoke was everywhere. After that the screen looked f**ked and was all wonked, but luckily i could borrow a degaussing wand and fix it and it kinda looks better now, tho i might have to get another degausing circuit.

The Monitor
by the_tankhead on Comments
Also, i have to add that i am also using an ArcadeVGA card which is bassically a video card that allows you to connect an arcade monitor to a pc. The reason i am not using a pc monitor is not only because the arcade monitor that came with it is 26" but because the games look far better on an actual arcade monitor.
By the way i found out that most arcade monitor's are 19" and not many games had 26" monitors so it's hard to find parts for 26" ones.

How it works
by the_tankhead on Comments
How it works basically is by using a pc and conecting it to the arcade's controls via a card called a J-PAC, which uses the already existing wiring of the machine. U could build the controls and everything urself but because i'm a lazy bastard and this way was easier and required less work, i decided this way was best for me.

What is a MAME cabinet?
by the_tankhead on Comments
Some of u may be wondering what a MAME cabinet is. Well all it basicly is is an arcade machine that uses a pc rather than a circuitboard, and uses emulation software (MAME - Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) and a frontend to run the games. Because u can find the roms for almost any games on sites or P2P networks it will easily be ably to host an astonishing amount of games on one machine rather than just one.

Cool Aye?
