[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]You do raelize the Spartans got swept away in changing political climates and ultimately lost to a higher power right? Soooo........yeah. Give a kid a little slice of history and they think they know the whole story.-Sora
And the whole theory falls apart
*KAAAAAA-BOOOMMM*
The Effect has nothing to do with history. But if we put it that way, then fine. Halo 3 will succumb to the Spartan Effectn and 360 will ultimately fail to a higher console. Thanks.Â
Kojima and the development team need time to make tons of full motion video footage lasting long bouts of time for Movie Gear...I mean Metal Gear Solid 4, and then they will focus on gameplay! Remember, it is always about watching the game first rather than playing it! :lol:AvIdGaMeR444
Kojima never has and never will use full motion video. I'll take it as a compliment if you think that, which means MGS4 is actually really good looking. You've shown your ignorance, now leave in shame.Â
Peter Moore is worse... Things just break.. ya know? Really so... things just break that easily.
It's much worse for people who have the 360 to hear this. People not buying the Ps3 isn't a big deal if they're not breaking down on everyone.Â
[QUOTE="thedarkomen"][QUOTE="D_Znuhtz"][QUOTE="thedarkomen"]After Halo 3 hits, it will no doubt sell out enormously, maybe even just about going beyond the Wii.
Of course the Wii is hitting casuals and selling out like hotcakes, and it will continue its height of gaming popularity. Problem is that casuals may not be willing to put 50$ for each game. I'm not sure how good the attach rate is, but I'm pretty sure 360 has that beat, but don't quote me on that.
So we're looking at a Spartan Effect here, a one hit kill that supposedly MS will claim victory for the end. However, they're right, it will end, for them. Unless there's a Halo 4 and Gears of War 2 planned, there are going to be some big problems with the 360. MS relies too much on Spartan arms, and overall its like the Mario of Nintendo.
Â
Now we're on to the Wii, Nintendo's new prized system. It's definitely on a good route, going on to sell out tons of systems, giving it one of the best potentials for the most variety in games. With games such as Mario Galaxy and SSBB. It could be possible for them to at least get a good amount to Halo 3. That is unless those two games turn out to be huge quality games. But I doubt that.
Â
Here comes the dark horse, the always underdog, don't deny it they always are, Sony and their Playstation 3. There aren't many systems sold thanks to the high price. However, there is something interesting. PS3 has a pretty big attach rate. Something around 1/3 of PS3 gamers have Resistence, if I'm not mistake, which is pretty damn huge.
Now, Sony actually has the best chance to turn the tides in their favor thanks to the Spartan Effect.
Halo will be huge, but Sony will try to game flood the holiday season. Heavenly Sword, MGS4, Rachet and Clank, Warhawk. The variety of games may entice gamers, maybe even a price drop to put smiles on peoples faces. We can't deny that there still that 120 million people (assuming) that bought and more are buying PS2. There is no doubt that this is a huge amount of fanbase that won't fizzle quickly. It is possible that if E3 goes right, Killzone actually is a game (ha ha), and they straighten up, they might actually take some wind away from Halo 3.
With the combined forces of the Wii and PS3, it might be hard for 360 to reach anyone else with their other games this holiday. It's all about Halo for the 360.

Halo is a big game, but if you think it will single-handedly bury every other game and console out there, you're reaching. Next, how is Sony "always the underdog"? I think PS1 and PS2 clearly dominating the competition with relatively under-powered machines would beg to differ. Nintendo is the underdog, if anyone is.
I'm a big Sony/Nintendo fan.
There's no denying that Halo will have an impact.
That game has sold tons just at release, it'll be insane.
The only one that has a chance to do anything is Sony and the possibility they will deliver with Home and Killzone and MGS4. All they need is for Killzone to be real and playable and fufill those promises to have a chance.
Sony is the underdog because every gen they are laughed at and put down by the media/fanboys, for stupid reasons. It happens every gen. Even the Dreamcast fanboys were a lot worse than lemmings. I remember, they were horrible gamers, that made up anything to make Ps2 look bad. We all know how that ended.
Lemmings dont have to look for things to make the PS3 look bad sony does it for them.I never said lemmings do that. /self-ownedÂ
