After Halo 3 hits, it will no doubt sell out enormously, maybe even just about going beyond the Wii.

Of course the Wii is hitting casuals and selling out like hotcakes, and it will continue its height of gaming popularity. Problem is that casuals may not be willing to put 50$ for each game. I'm not sure how good the attach rate is, but I'm pretty sure 360 has that beat, but don't quote me on that.

So we're looking at a Spartan Effect here, a one hit kill that supposedly MS will claim victory for the end. However, they're right, it will end, for them. Unless there's a Halo 4 and Gears of War 2 planned, there are going to be some big problems with the 360. MS relies too much on Spartan arms, and overall its like the Mario of Nintendo.

Now we're on to the Wii, Nintendo's new prized system. It's definitely on a good route, going on to sell out tons of systems, giving it one of the best potentials for the most variety in games. With games such as Mario Galaxy and SSBB. It could be possible for them to at least get a good amount to Halo 3. That is unless those two games turn out to be huge quality games. But I doubt that.

Here comes the dark horse, the always underdog, don't deny it they always are, Sony and their Playstation 3. There aren't many systems sold thanks to the high price. However, there is something interesting. PS3 has a pretty big attach rate. Something around 1/3 of PS3 gamers have Resistence, if I'm not mistake, which is pretty damn huge.

Now, Sony actually has the best chance to turn the tides in their favor thanks to the Spartan Effect.

Halo will be huge, but Sony will try to game flood the holiday season. Heavenly Sword, MGS4, Rachet and Clank, Warhawk. The variety of games may entice gamers, maybe even a price drop to put smiles on peoples faces. We can't deny that there still that 120 million people (assuming) that bought and more are buying PS2. There is no doubt that this is a huge amount of fanbase that won't fizzle quickly. It is possible that if E3 goes right, Killzone actually is a game (ha ha), and they straighten up, they might actually take some wind away from Halo 3.

With the combined forces of the Wii and PS3, it might be hard for 360 to reach anyone else with their other games this holiday. It's all about Halo for the 360.

Halo 3 will go down as the biggest game this gen.

GTA has lost its touch, FF doesnt have the hardcore followers. SSB stops with the casuals.

Halo 3 will be pushed harder than any game in history, no telling how much MS will spend in advertising.

HeHateMe_basic

That was so fanboyish, it made me sick to my stomach.

Did you forget about Japan and Europe? Durrrrrr....!

Knock Knock, not everyone likes Halo, especially outside the US. Get over yourself.

The game looks.... really bad. Sorry it does. It looks horrible, I'm sorry. The graphics are just... so bad.. It's barely a step above Lost Odyssey. It's not good looking at all. I can see jaggies, wth?

FFXIII looks wayyyy better than this. I think Square is trying to cash in. -_- Once again 360 brings down the graphical potential.

Hm twilight princess was flopped... interesting.....

I'm thinking we'll be surprised by its rating.

I mean fads die, could it be happening, could Nintendo or Sony steal that spotlight?

This is where we see if hype can sell a great game, or hype can sell a bad game...

Don't rule out Sony yet, things can change real fast in this battle.

And Nintendo is already set to win it all.

This is just about the last hope for 360 to even make a dent in the industry.

This is their prized horse, and if it flops, SW, and the gaming community filled with lemmings will be left with the worst excuse ever: but its the game that matters.

Well obviously here Gamespot numbers only matter and it would be foolish to think otherwise. We fight for scores and alliances and systems, not for the game itself and your own personal enjoyment.

Quote me if you must, but if Halo 3 fails, another ONE game this holiday season will outsell it completely. I'm not going to mention that game, because its controversial, but let's let the hype decide if this war is all about hype and halo, or is it about the quality of the game, we'll see, we'll see.

Seems odd, I only hear people talking about real systems like the Wii. And I hear a lot about Ps2 games and such.  And lots of Ps3 games get mentioned as well, but never really 360. Maybe Halo once was mentioned, but every 360 fan I've met is a ig a-hole in real life. They believe that their system is superior no matter what. It's just a game and game system.

Halo is not the end all be all game, that will never be reached. So stop hyping it or it'll fall way below your expectations. It's just a game.

Knowing how things seem to be turning out, it'll be AAAA.

Unless something can take its spotlight.

Hype rules over all seemingly.

true but fanboys how can you stop them ? i mean seriously is there a way?!arabi_89

Ignore them, and take your own views and paths. Stop reading fanboy forums and viewpoints and make your own.

Buy what you want, not what others tell you.

Ah so could it possibly be an illusion that the fans have power of the developers? Developers could try to portray this to sway the hardcore fans, and if it sucks, "well you guys wanted it."

If developers continue this, "listen to the consumer and give them what they want business," there will be a huge problem. Fanboys are the first to call out "flaws" loudy in a game, and even so its usually not good for the rest. And fanboys may even from the other side try horrible tactics to hurt the competition.

We just have to hope that developers don't listen too loudly to these fanboys.

Knowing what game will be worth it, takes a lot of time to understand. It's like intuition.

Just research the game you like, get an idea if it sounds cool to play, and buy it.
