Glad you could join us. Tecmo tanked their potential sales on this one. Going multiplat at launch would have attracted all the people who like Wo Long. Now this game is often forgotten. KCD2 is the same price through many outlets.
Those PC-only games are PC game series. It is faster to bring them back on their native platform (PC, where they have an established audience) than to port to console + controller.
@sippio: Yes, Activision-Blizzard-King. King is the mobile publisher portion, and they bring in a ton of profit for relatively little investment & operating costs.
@GalvatronType_R: Even if the Series consoles were selling better, where would the count be? They would not swap places with PS5 internationally. So, a tie? A near tie? The media preaches that the amount of players has stagnated. So, that brings up to a 45 million console installed base for Xbox Series and PS5 in a virtual tie scenario.
PS5 had to drastically change course because current sales are not enough. They would panic at 45 million to date. For Xbox, that would be a lot better, but would it be enough for them (the execs), even with PC sales?
The turning point was the ABK deal; that put more than one Eye of Sauron on Xbox. It begs the question, "If you are going to keep existing ABK series multiplatform, wouldn't these other games sell better, too? Why not port those?"
@Vodoo: Uh, no. There are tens of millions of people that want an Xbox. MS wants a homebase. What we are seeing is Satya demanding more profit (along with other factors). MS is going to pick & choose games to put on PS and Nintendo. They have a platform and simultaneously a larger effectiveinstall base than any competitor. Indy is an odd case because they announced a release window for a PS5 version at the same time as the release date for PC and Xbox.
