Wii/PS3 Hands-On

Last week, I had the oportunity to try both next-gen consoles for the first time, and this is my "kind of review":

Wii:
First its the wiimote, it feels funny take something that remembers a TV remote and use it for games, but anyway, is comfortable.
The game I played was Wii Sports (I was hopin to try Red Steel, Zelda , C.O.D.3 or Far Cry, but WTH......), I select Tennis, and the feeling is funny, moving your arm back and forth... so funny.
Final thought: The Nintendo Wii is a blast of FUN, a console you can have for play games and laugh of yourself wen you look silly moving as the games orders...

PS3:
First the SIXAXIS, its... same... and diferent... The buttons (X, O, Square adn Triangle) feels soft, and the L2/R2 feels like triggers (thats good, for racing and FPS).
The game I played was NFS: Carbon, I ran a couple of laps in a random circiut (I believe that is one of the muscle car zone). Visually, its amazing (I haven't seen the 360 version), its a pleasant experience. The only thing I regret was that I cannot use the motion feature for the game.
Final thought: The Sony PlayStation 3 is a great console, makes a huge step from the model of PS2...

Mercenaries against The Revolution

In 2005, a game called Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, came out for the PS2 an the X-Box. The game made controversy because used North Korea as scenario for the game actions. The opinions of represent people and followers of the North Korean government  was that the game is an example of the bad image the US government wants to  implant in the world. A year after, in E3 2006, the developers of the game presented what will be the sequel: Mercenaries: World on Flames, which use as scenario Venezuela. The answer from the Venezuelan government: the same as the North Korean government.

Why Venezuela? Is the question everyone ask. The answer from Pandemic Studios is "We doesn't take Venezuela because the problems between the governments of Caracas and Washington.

Only we have to wait if the games came out and if the Venezuelan government banned of these Country.

Gaming Regions?

I'd create a forum topic for people in Latin America to support the idea of create a GameSpot version in Spanish.

One of the anwers I recieve says: "...GameSpot only targets the most important "gaming regions" because they are a gaming site..."

Where are the gaming region? Only in US, Europe and Japan, because they create games?

Come on, gaming is worldwide!

The people wants find the information in its own language, they don't wanna be attach to english forever.

These f***ing inflation....

The people don't stop talking about the prices of the next gen equipment (XBOX 360, PS3 and Wii)... the prices are between the 200 (the lowest for the Wii) and 600 (the official price of the PS3). They say stuff like "the PS3 will flop because its overpriced" or "I'm taking my Wii and buying with the rest of my money Zelda Twilight and Metroid Prime 3, instead of buying a 360 or PS3".

But, do you want to know the awful truth? United Staters (or US Citizens) are so conceited...

The reality check is this: talking with the owner of my local gaming store (where I bought my games), he told me "I just got the XBOX 360, its 1.280 US$", "the PS3 will cost 1.400 US$" and "the Nintendo Wii will cost between 450 US$ and 600 US$"...

600 Dollars for the Nintendo Wii?

A friend of mine (and all time Nintendo fan-boy) told me: "600 US$? I'd love Nintendo, I'd have all the Nintendo hardware, from NES to Game Cube, but... 600 US$? I'm not dig with it."

United Staters (or US Citizens): stop crying about the "600 US$ PS3", you make me sick....

Lack of support...

A couple of day ago, I had the idea of a union of Venezuelan gamers, but my idea its going down so quick....

I hope I can start my union... (and not wait 30 days...)

A game I haven't buy (and I don't know why...)

The other day, I went to the games store where I buy my games, and I see a couple of kids playing God of War. I stay a couple of minutes watching them play, and I realize that GOW its a awesome game.

When I have the money to buy this game, always have another to change my opinion of buy it or not (I'd prefer Rugby 06 and TOCA 3 instead GOW)

Maybe in one of these days y collect the money and finally buy it.

I'm too old!

The other day i was checking the profiles of gamespot editors like Carrie or Alex Naverro, and i realize that this guys are in my group of age!

Man, it's kind of weird!

I'm sad for not living in the bay area... I believe that I have the talent to work in a amazing place like GameSpot

Only I dream in the posibility of GameSpot in Latin America... *sigh*
