%Quick Notes

  • A lot of Indie Wii U games are TBD so I don’t know for sure when they will come out.
  • I tried not to include super small games, so I didn’t include every single Wii U or 3DS game on this list.
  • A lot of the 3DS lineup was from SuperMetalDave’s rumored lineup on NeoGaf, so I added on to that list, and I added a Wii U list as well. Here is his list
  • I might have gotten some 3rd Party and Indie Companies mixed up, so please let me know if I did anything wrong or missing anything super important.
  • The January and February list is a bit low, but that’s because: 1. Nintendo 3DS didn’t have any HUGE games during that time period except Fire Emblem, and 2. My memory is a bit fuzzy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, there you go. I know the Wii U list is smaller than the 3DS list and there are more Indies than AAA big budget games on the Wii U, but that is just how things are.

Sorry if a few things in this list is a little inaccurate, that is my fault. Let me know if you notice anything wrong.

I hope this list has given you some knowledge about games that you might not have even heard about that are coming out on the Wii U or 3DS.

Also, let me know what you think about the games so far this year. Has Nintendo had a good year so far with the games they have put out, or is it just like last year? Please discuss, and I hope you enjoyed it!

Edit 1: Codename N-Stars turns out to be Mario Party: Star Rush, and is releasing on November 4, 2016; Paper Mario Color Trash, I mean Splash is coming out October 7, 2016. These dates were added and are now official. If there is anything new that needs to be updated let me know.

Edit 2: WHOA! How about Zelda? Well, that next day, we got a ton of news and release dates. So let me explain what happened. Rhythm Heaven MegaMix was surprisingly released yesterday, out of all times, so I added that in. Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past now has a release date of September 16, 2016, still no news for DQ8 yet. Shantae is coming out 9/27/2016. Corpse Party is coming out August 30, 2016. BoxBoxBoy got announced for a release date of June 30, 2016. However, that is pretty much all I have. Please let me know if anything new happens, so I can update it again.

Edit 3: A few tweaks have been made, and some new Wii U games have released.

Top 10 games of 2016 and Predictions for spots in the list

Some of these games haven't been reviewed or came out yet, so this won't be the true top 10, but I will write one at the end of this year to see if I was right about anything. This is just a prediction, so don't take this too seriously. No remakes, or DLC, but reboots like, DOOM (2016) or Star Fox Zero do count. So without further ado, let's get started.

First some honorable mentions. They are in no specific order, and the remake rule doesn't count here.

#1 Ratchet and Clank (2016)

#2 Final Fantasy 7 Remake

#3 Forza Horizon 3 or Halo Wars 2

#4 Battlefield 1

#5 Mirror's Edge: Catalyst

#6 DOOM (2016)

#7 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

For fun, here are some dishonorable mentions:

#1 Call of Duty Infinite Warfare

#2 Metroid Prime: Federation Force

The Top 10:

#10 Fire Emblem Fates Conquest/Birthright/Revelations

Fun fact: It got really close for the #10 spot. It was between Doom and Fire Emblem, but Fire Emblem scored a hair better than Doom. I calculated the average of the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of Doom from Metacritic and got 86.3. I did the same for all 3 versions of FeF and got 86.7, so Fire Emblem won by .4 difference.

#9 Pokemon Sun/Moon

#8 Final Fantasy XV

#7 No Man's Sky

#6 Monster Hunter Generations

#5 Total War: Warhammer

#4 Overwatch

#3 Dark Souls III

#2 The Last Guardian

#1 Uncharted 4

Let me know if you like or not like this list, and if I didn't include a specific game you like. I hope you like it.

Also discuss about the candidates, and if they deserve the spots they are in.

Edit 1: Horizon Zero Dawn and Persona 5 were put into 2017. So, unfortunately, I took Horizon out of the list, and neglected to put Persona 5 on there. I moved #4-#8 up 1 spot. For example, Final Fantasy XV, which was originally #8, is now #7 on my list. I also replaced #8 with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Everything else is still the same.

Edit 2: I put Deus Ex as an Honorable Mention, and I replaced it with Total War: Warhammer. Final Fantasy XV has been moved back to #8, No Man's Sky to #7, Monster Hunter at #6, and Total War: Warhammer is at #5.

Edit 3: I removed Street Fighter V from the Honorable Mention list. I just felt like it didn't deserve to be there.
