I've hit the Row...

Today, I started my stint on the Row. I loaded up Saints Row for the first time today and so far it's awesome. I'm too into the targeting system because there is no auto-lock. Most games of this type have an auto-lock feature which tends to make the combat easier. Alas, this one doesn't. It took a little time to get used to be I'm getting there. The garage feature is one of the greatest innovations to this genre and had better become a standard. Also, the GPS is a great new feature. Some of those streets, especially in GTA:SA and Just Cause, can get a little hairy in navigating but the GPS just takes all of the headache out of that. So far I'm pretty impressed with the Row. More to come as I play it.

Last night I spent some time in Arathi Basin and I ran across a level 40 warrior (I'm a 46 undead warlock btw) and everytime I returned to the BG he was there, always in my face. I dispatched very easily but he always came back swinging that sword. I have to give him credit for that...he wasn't a quitter. No matter how many times I coiled him, feared him and let my DOTs just erradicate him.

Why Auto-Save is awesome!

Today, we learned yet another lesson in why games with auto-save are 1000X better. The following paragraph contains a few spoilers for FFVI so if you haven't beat it stop here.

 ***SPOLIERS***

I just landed on the Floating Continent and saved my game. I fought my way through Ultima and everything until I reached yet another very long cutscene. After the cutscene I had 6 minutes to escape the island. However, in order to save Shadow, you have to wait at the end until the timer runs out. I completely forgot that the timer still runs when you're in the menu and time expired...leaving me to go through all of that crap AGAIN!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! Stupid Final Fantasy save point system.

Tha' Introduction!!

I've never gotten into the whole blog scene but I figured it's time to succum to it. I highly doubt anyone will ever read this but if you get that bored, feel free to leave comments. I will read them all.

As you can tell the games I'm currently playing is FFVI for the GBA (but I'm playing it on my DS), Crackdown and, just like a lot of people, World of Warcraft. I haven't been able to play WoW since last Wednesday but I will be able to next week since I'll be on vacation.

I play the DS while I'm at work. I do tech support so the 3rd shift is very quiet and I have plenty time. FFVI seems to make it go by so much faster but the game made me mad tonight. After a verrrrrry length cutscene I forgot to save and was killed by a boss and had to sit through the same BS cutscene again. I know it's my fault for not saving but AHHHHH!

Until next time...

Kelly Hu portrayed Lady Deathstrike in X2: X-Men United. She also tangled with a famous horror movie icon in her earlier career. Who was it and in which movie?
