No. The point is, with running a torrent program, that it will take up bandwidth.
However I think Azureus has an option that allows you to not seed, ever... which is bad. Good for bandwidth, maybe, but still... bad.

i know that u can remove seeding as a feature in azureus, but if u have azureus u'd be stupid to do so, theres a reward feature that bumps u forward in the leeching queues depending on ur ratio (kinda like emule did) the higher ur upload ratio, ultimately, the faster ur downloads... i have about 40-50 gigs uploaded and about 30 gigs downloaded at the moment, and average about 1.5-2:1 ratios.....and if theres seeders out there, i can connect to em.... when i dont have so good of a ratio, seems to take longer to connect to seeds
