I really hope that Microsoft will not go the cloud console route. It does not matter what is is called, but make it good to compete with PlayStation. And definitely release the handheld console before or at least at the same time Sony does. We know both companies must be working on a handheld console for some time now. I really want Microsoft to continue competing with Sony. This is why we all got PS5 and Series X/S at those prices. Without competition we are at the mercy of the these big players. Nintendo does not compete with PlayStation like Microsoft does.
When the PS5 Pro was announced, people started dreaming (perhaps) a little too much. When the actual PS5 Pro was revealed, considering its price and everything it had to offer, I decided not to buy it. One could get a very capable TV for 700 USD (800 Euros because "reasons" in the EU), a TV that would be used a lot more and for a longer time than a PS5. I was one of the ones that would have preordered a PS5 Pro if it had a price closer to 650 AND it had a disk drive. I can hardly wait until PS6 will be announced and it will be compared to PS5 Pro, most likely having the same launch price as PS5 Pro. Even though I can afford it, I will not be paying so much for a console that is supposed to be subsidized.
For some context, I was a PC gamer until I was give a PS3 quite late in PS3 lifecycle and I started playing on it more than on my quite capable PC.
I like all these "Welcome to the past" posts (sarcasm - I do not). Sony has tied their consoles traditionally to TV standards, that is why they did not support 1440p right from the start. You know what 1440p support for PS5 says? It says Sony is listening to us and we have a powerful voice when we can move mountains like Sony. I don't like the folders support just yet. I really want to be able to have folders in the Home list, not in the library.
