Downpour didn't fit the bill for me, it lacked the original music composer, the combat and monster design as mentioned was weak. The nightmare sequences were derivative and cheap, like they've been done a million times over. The story didn't have any real substance to bite down into, it just wasn't enough for me.

Your right a reboot has been wasted, maybe third times the charm... if there is anymore money left in the budget.
I liked the Silent Hill series, well really the first, second, and third game along with shattered memories which I believe was the 6th installment. The first movie that was made was alright as well, aside from the 2nd tragic sequel which I believe someone produced while sitting on a toilet. The 4th, 5th, and 8th game installments were failures in my opinion... they ran the nightmare sequences into the ground and didn't provided indepth stories that made you wanna know the protagonist more. Silent Hill as a place of horrors and life changing truths has been lost, but I believe it needs an overhaul. Yes the nightmare sequences of this game can be terrifying, but why not make them more artistic... make Silent Hill a gateway to a world of nightmarish dark beauty and wonders, a place where some go for refuge from their reality.
Yeah perhaps all this Wii HD noise i've been reading about is just some analyst made up dream. What I've always admired about Nintendo is that they've always did things their way besides trying to follow other consoles on the market. Don't get me wrong HD clear-ity would be great to see on the Wii, but it's not entirely necessary right now.
If anything it's relief knowing that the chances of a updated HD console release next year is out of the question. Really who the hell has bucks to keep burning every single year on updated consoles anyway!

I wonder if Nintendo will release a firmware update containing the HD support for original Wii consoles after they release the New HD Wii. I hope so or it will really suck to have to get another one. Another thing, will they re-release all the games they have out on the market in HD graphic design.

Why would nintendo release a new console then release the same thing for free. this even got past jasonguy werid. Yes release 40+ games all that everybody owns at once makes sense. I also see u your people the crap that comes out of patchers mouth that was your first mistake
Why wouldn't they release a firmware update is the question. Nintendo has always been loyal to their fans unlike another company system I know of that has released endless ******* remakes of the same console and is still growing strong. The rest of your comment Cruse34 I can't understand.

I wanna clear up something I've been hearing mentioned a lot, and that is when I say Old School. NES 8-Bit, Super Nintendo, and Saga Genesis are old school systems not the Game Cube, to me anyway. Star Fox and Donkey Kong didn't begin on the N64, they began on the NES-8bit system. The first Star Fox game I played was on Supr Nintendo. The best 3D game of it's time back in the day. It was all about the space adventuring, a real cool game.
Game Cude is a third Generation system, PS2 a second, Xbox360 a second, PS3 a third, and the nintendo Wii a fourth Gen.
