I just recently discovered that MechCommander 2 is open source for the PC, and I've been playing through it and loving it! Can't go wrong with a mech RTS.

GunZ: The Duel is most definitely the best free PC game ever created! It combines elements of an MMORPG with a FPS to create exciting gameplay that never gets old... everyone try it!
