OK, so I have always been a sucker for Limited/Collectors/Ultimate Editions of games. No matter if it comes with one small concept art piece or a large sculpture of the main character, I always look more at games that come in a box larger than a normal DVD case. This entry however will focus on my most recent CE addition, Dead Space 2. Once I found out last year that the Dead Space 2 CE would come with a replica Plasma Cutter, I ran down to my Gamestop and pre-ordered it faster than you could say "NECRO!".

Now that I have had it in my hands since the midnight release (yeah, I did) I am kind of disappointed. In no advertisement for the CE did I ever see how big the cutter would be in a human hand. THey probably did that on purpose since it feels small and cheap now. I now wonder if my expectations should be lowered from now on for CE's. Yes, they have some cool stuff but I have to keep in mind that the companies are trying to make money and are trying to cut costs where ever they can (AKA, the smallish Plasma Cutter).

Oh well, I know this experience will not kill off my CE addiction, I just need to do a bit more research before dropping the extra cash on one.

Amazing, the last post on my blog was 2 years ago. Can't believe its been that long. On that note, I've been a member since 04/28/2005!!!!! That is an insane thing to think about.

Alright, to continue with my new video series I started yesterday, today's offering is one of my favorite comedians, Pablo Francisco!!!!!!

Since I am enjoying sharing these videos with everyone, I also want to vent a bit here as well. If I continue to do this section, I might pursue more action on this topic but as of right now I just need to let out some frustration: GAMESPOT NEEDS TO ALLOW MEMBERS TO EMBED VIDEOS INTO THEIR BLOGS! I can see why they don't but imagine this place where people could share videos without having to place a link in their blog (hint, hint).

What, you thought this was some sort of 'Get rich quick scheme?'

Over at CNN.com, they have an article about a former ATM repairman for a large bank who created the hit game 'Trism' for the iPhone. I don't have one yet, but the game has a Tetris feel to it and looks VERY addicting.

The designer programmed the whole thing during his off time and now boasts his own developing company for future games.

I SOOOOOOOO wish I was this talented :P

So, for those who were under a rock all day, 7-11 has announced that they will be stocking new release games in their stores.  While I am always in favor for open competition in a capitalist society against a company who entire MO is gaming *Cough* Gamestop *Cough*, 7-11 as a whole needs to impliment regulations about their new game division.

Like banking and the regulations banks have to follow, there should be rules about certain things you do when selling video games.  I offer myself as the first 7-11 National Game Advisor.

The duties of the position would be to train staff about their new products, make sure they know basic terminoligy ('Blu-Ray? No, we don't carry that kind of vodka.'), and make sure they know the basics about new releases on a montly basis ('Mirror's Edge?  Sorry, we don't sell mirrors here, dude.').

This way, 7-11 can be just as successful as other video game retailers, only more so because gamers can now buy their games and foos in the same place.

-Well, The NXE dropped Tuesday night/Wedensday morning, and I was finally able to try it out.  It's new, so I am relating the bugs I'm encountering to that, but overall I would give the update an 8.0.  Not great, not bad, just....... different.

-I have more sad news to report.  Most of you know Tiggerboy's 360 dies the other day while playing Mirror's Edge.  He was pissed, but has his PC (WoW) and his PS3 to keep him busy.  Well, his PC died last night.  Busted HDD.  Let us all hope he can get back on his technological feet soon enough.

-Lich King came out, and damn if I'm not addicted to the game again.  The Death Knight is AMAZING.  You are directed to be evil, which is an awesome change of pace in the game.  Plus, they look kick @$$.  Below you will find my realm and character names, look me up if you are ever in Azeroth!

Like most gamers in their 20's, reading anything other than a strategy guide or anything on the internet can sometimes be a boring long process.  I, however, have become a convert when it comes to paperback reading material.

These two books are quite possibly the best video game novels I have read in a long time (I read the halo books a while ago, I need to brush up on those too).  Written by one of the writers for the game, these books fit perfectly into the canon of Mass Effect.  I can't get enough of them.

I highly recommend you go out to get these if you do not already have them.  At about 6-8 bucks each, it won't hurt the bank too much.
