"Rumor: Wii Releasing October 2? --- Jul 25th 5:15 pm CDTposted by AndrewNardi

In today's press release, announcing their fall handheld lineup, Nintendo teased that the release date for Wii may be hidden somewhere in the text. Already, this is causing widespread speculation on gaming sites and forums all over the place.

Nintendo's press release reads: "Perhaps the secret to the launch information for Wii is somehow encoded in the text of this news item. You might want to pore over it for a few hours before staying up all night to debate phraseology and comma placement with your friends online.
Or maybe it's all just a scam to get you to read the other games we have launching this fall. One of the two."While it could, and most likely is, Nintendo just screwing with our poor information-needing souls, it's worth taking a look.

Take a look for yourself and see if you can decode anything from it. What we can tell after a good thirty seconds or so of scrutiny is that a game is releasing every Monday except October 2, November 20, and November 27. Nintendo has hinted that the Wii would launch sooner than later, so that points to... October 2nd?Most speculation is being led by the fact that there is at least one game releasing every Monday except October 2, November 20, and November 27, with many people believing October 2 to be the most likely. Why is this? For a few reasons.

First off, Nintendo has hinted that Wii will launch sooner than later, with some reports saying they may even launch it right after the Tokyo Game Show at the end of September. Second of all, most people don't believe Nintendo would want to launch Wii after Black Friday, meaning November 27 is out of the question, or directly after PlayStation 3, which would rule out November 20. This leaves October 2 as the only choice. So did Nintendo really leave us a hint as to when Wii will launch, and will it be October 2 if that is the case? Or did they just pull a sneaky move on the fans and journalists to get them talking about the upcoming DS lineup? We'll find out in September, when Nintendo officially announces when Wii will launch."

EDIT: I also liked enjoyed this bit of speculation by a poster: "This may be reading in a little too much but a possible reason they chose James Bond is J & B. These of course are the 10th and 2nd letters of the alphabet...ergo the release date is 10/2."

WOW! Isn't that amazing? If it's true or not this is all over the net and spreading fast, apparently the Nintendo guys have got their heads on straight when it comes to marketing this Phenom because it is making people everywhere talk Wii. Hope it's true though so I know it's time to make my reservation. Thanks for the good times as always Ninty. TTYL.

Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Well saw it at midnight lastnight, barely got in though, the theatre initialy had two screens running it but they sold out so they opened it on three more which sold out, but it was great. The movie had a real epic storyline and though usual humor that made it so much fun the first time around but with a still serious undertone that kept it tense and exciting. The special effects were top notch but fortunatly the story and action took center stage, making the parts with crashing or explosions few but sweet so it wasn't just a mindless mess. As in the last chapter the acting was great and the heros/anti heros were played and written very well. The story involving Sparrow and Davy Jones was intriguing and

*****SPOILER***** Will Turner finding his dad on Jones' ship and them working together was great. **End SPOLIER**

The setup for the next film next summer was very well done and didn't leave you feeling like they left something good out to make the next one, this movie was complete in itself making the anticipations for next years final part huge.

All in all I'd say this movie and X-Men 3 have been the two best of the year and both two of the best movies I have ever seen. And if and when you see Pirates make sure you get there early enough for the trailers, theres some great comedy ones and Next summers surefire hit "Transformers".

New Prey Demo!!

Played the demo round 3 am this morning and could't beleive how awesome it was! The single player mode has a great story, some nice horror elements and the Atmosphere is amazing! I noticed a lack of music, but I rather liked it alot. There are so many sounds and effects in the game if there had been any game music it would have sounded out of place.

Portholes, boxes and wall walking.

Imagine walking up to a box laying sideways on the floor in the middle of a room. You look into the box, but instead of seeing the inside wall, you see a whole other room!! You look up and down seeing a vast room that you can walk into, the sense of disorientation is great. These boxes somehow lead to other parts of the ship that contain even more strange objects. For instance, one of these boxes early on leads onto the surface of a miniture planetoid suspended in the middle of a huge room, with it's own gravity and you can walk all the way around the surface of the planet.

Portholes are basicaly holes in time and space the Aliens use to pop out of nowhere and start shooting you. While it doesn't sound impressive, these things really are. Combined with the wall walking(imagine the tracks that Samus uses on Metroid Prime to climb walls and the ceiling in Morph ball mode) a situation may and does occur where on the ceiling above you, where you just walked down from, a porthole opens and several enemies jump through and start shooting you. At first you can't figure out where you are getting shot from. "WTF?!?!" you may ask as you look back and forth trying to spot them, only to realize it's coming from the ceiling. This... is fun.

The wall walking is a great part of this game and the game in general is alot more appealing to me than most recent FPSs. This one ended and I was so mad, I wanted more!!!

It's so much fun all the elements of the game seem fresh and new, the weapons are well designed as are the levels and puzzles, not to mention it has great action and some stuff that really makes you jump back from the screen a bit as you try and fend of some weird mutated Humans.
Not to mention the graphics are truly next gen, with great lighting effect and it has a very immersive atmosphere. I loved the fact there were no actual cutscenes, you are part of them and you can control what you look at and all that, makes it seem much more real.

Can't wait to get the full game. This demo gets a 9.9 outa 10.

Quick thoughts on this gen.

I own a 360, will be buying a Wii, and will never touch a PoS3. I'am what alot of people refer to as a Wii60 fan/gamer. the 360 is the superior machine IMO in this Gen, Wii is the most innovative in terms of new ways to play games, and the PS3 is a boatload of crap fed to us on a $600 platter.

Most likely, Wii will make the most money this gen with an inexpensive console almost everyone wants, as has been said, most gamers will buy a 360 or a PS3 and a Wii with either one, or just a Wii alone giving it the broadest territory.

PS3 will end up first again this Gen but only because 360 doesn't quite have the brand name status it does, though this Gen is really where...

360 is going to gain ground and be a close contender and really gain the respect it needs to take the top spot maybe five years down the road or whenever the next gen hits us.
