- If you're too angry to think rationally, leave the room or remove yourself from the situation in another way.
- Think of something relaxing while you're trying to get control of yourself. Imagine yourself in this situation reacting calmly.
- Take a lot of deep breaths. Put some cold water on your wrists and on your face.
- Plan a new approach. Think about apologizing for your role in the mess.
- If you have repeated problems with one person, let him or her know and try to talk out the problem before the next conflict occurs.
- Make a list of the things you enjoy doing that relax you and make it a point to do them often.
- Talk to your parents, your teacher, or a friend about dealing with a problem.
