Depending on the money your looking at spending you have a few possibilities.

Expensive:

Sony XBR - Are the best LCD's around, hands down. Picture Quality, Brightness, Contrast, this TV is unmatched. You can argue all day and night, but the second you get this thing in your home, you'll be happy you spent the money. The current model is the XBR4, and will set you back $2,999.99 CDN MSRP for a 40 inch.

Cheaper Alternatives:

Samsung/Sharp - If you don't want to spend that much, these two are you best alternatives. Chances are you average person isn't going to be able to tell the difference anyways, so you mid as well save some money and go for the cheaper alternative. 40 inch Samsung LNT4061 will be around $1,999.99. Sony V series LCD panels are made in the same factory as the LNT panels, so your getting a quality screen, it's just the video hardware which will set the two apart visually ... Sharp is quite nice as well, but the sizes are different, 37 and 46, no 40 inch here. 37 inch is around %1,599.99, 46 inch is $2,499.99.

If this is going to be a tv used for Xbox 360 mainly, save your money and buy a sharp. If your a movie guy, and will be watching sports, or doing anything besides game on this tv, buy the Sony. I used to work retail in a big box retailer, and 80% of the customers that came into our store could not tell the difference between a $5,000 plasma tv, and a $1,200 rear projection tv in terms of quality. if you would rather have more money in your pocket vs. the best tv in the market, get a samsung or a sharp. On the other hand, they both pale in comparison, and if your looking for outright quality, but don't care about what it will do to your back account, get the Sony.

It also helps to know somebody that can hook you up with a good price.

This discussion has being going on for years...

Depending on which platform you first started playing First Person Shooters will generally dictate your answer. I started playing on a PC and I found it quite hard to revert to a controller. I've always liked the added control you have with a mouse+keyboard, but only because I never thought of playing with a controller until I purchased my console. I would still like nothing more than to have a M+K for my Xbox 360, but the third party products that I've been able to track down and test are nowhere near ready.

The day an official Microsoft K+M adaptor/accessory hits the market, will be the first and only time I'll wait in camp in front of a store to get it.

When I bought my Xbox 360, I had a similar problem. Going from a PC FPS player to an Xbox was tricky for me, and I need to practise up. Bioshock is a good place to start becasue the pace of the game is dictated by how fast you play. Because you can explore every acre of the game, it gives you time to get used to the controls. Same thing goes for a game like Ghost Recon or Rainbox Six. You have the choice to slow down the game play, and plan out your attack, giving you time to learn.

I play alot of R6V (Rainbox Six Vegas) and I love it. I've never been a big Halo fan, and basically bought the Xbox 360 for FPS's, RPG's and and a few other titles (Assassins Creed, GTA, NFS series).

Hope that helps...
