Cool to see a fellow tennis player in SW. What racquet do you use? I use a Babolat Pure Drive Roddick Plus. The power is unbelievable.

As for your question, it depends. I love getting into a great WRPG, and usually I do end up feeling pretty satisfied when I complete one. Unfortunately it is rare for a RPG game's ending to tie up all the loose ends and provide a really fulfilling ending after all that time and effort and immersion into the world. So my satisfaction is mixed with a hint of ambivalence. In most cases I just feel relieved I found the time to beat a game so I can get to another and chip away at my backlog.

In other cases, I'd be right alongside the "rational" people chiding the ridiculous fanboys fawning over a "piece of plastic." In this case, however, it is about what that "piece of plastic" represents. It represents a potential direction in gaming I do not endorse and do not believe suits the best interests of gamers. So, is it over-the-top? Yep. But does meaningful change require passionate fervor? In some cases I think it does. Fire away cows, fire away.

Totally agree. Microsoft + EA + Activision is the diabolic trio of gaming.

I actually don't find EA to be that bad... there have been times when EA made poor decisions... but the company does some good things... I mean we're getting Battlefront 3, right.

I can dig that. i just can't bring myself to believe bioware could get so trrrble (charles barkley voice) so fast. Call me old fashioned, but as evidence by DA:O sales, I think there is still a market for that type of turn-based game. I think if they just kept refining and building on that SWKOR formula it would be amazing. I wish bioware still did, too.

We ultimately determine the direction of gaming. I didn't like the direction Sony tried to lead gaming in the beginning of the PS3 years, so I went 360. After the Kinectification of 360 mid-gen and absolute dearth of unique exclusives after 2009, I supported Sony. What do you know? Sony recognized their mistakes from last gen, and have (at least for now) demonstrated placing what is best for gaming as their foremost priority.

MS on the other hand, is trying to lead gaming in a direction I personally don't agree with. Therefore, I vote with my wallet. You should, too. What other option do we have? History has proven if we collectively act for our vision of gaming as gamers the gigantic companies will ultimately follow.

The role gaming plays in the perpetuation of idiocy in society. PC has games that require critical thinking like strategy, sim, etc. Sony is one of the only companies that create story-driven games that don't require I shut my brain off (NOT EVERY game they make does mind you, but many have several). The vast majority however are just SO dumb (I'm staring at you Ryse).
