So if the team playing Australia was the UK, then it would consist of players from all of these nations.. Not trying to be picky, but the ashes is between England v Australia, NOT UK v Australia." Both Scotland and Ireland have there own cricket teams, however the England team is actually England and Wales. Hence the Welsh not having there own recognised side.
