First Blog of 2009...For me obviously!

I realize Ihave become lazy when it comes to blogging but I do still come onto TV.com almost every day. So if you ever need to talk to me just pm me and I should respond within the next 24 hours no later than 48 unlesss I am on vacation or can't get to a copmuter for some reason.

Anyways, the Pittsburgh Steelers are back in the Super Bowl again. The just beat the Baltimore Ravens over an hour ago. They will face the Arizona Cardinals in what should be a good matchup. The PEnguins are struggling right now but just won today giving them two straight wins for the first time since November.

I watched SNL last night and it was a pretty good one, atleast in my eyes. I loved "Da Learnin Train" skit. If they could find someone to take over Rosarios's spot tand make it a semi-regular skit that could be a good one. Chuck is in the midst of a short break but it is still as addicting this season as it was in the previous one. Smallville is still going while Lost is getting ready for it's comeback. Can't wait. I caught both episodes of American Idol thus far and loved the Bikini Girl scene. Kara DioGuardi was really mad and started to sing and everything. Did anyone see Paula's face she looked like she was dead. She just sat there as if she was blind, deaf and paralyzed. I know she is nice an friendly but she is a strange banana. She always says or does some weird things, even if that doesn't count you can bet she'll do something else a little odd or embarassing if you know what I mean. For example last year when Simon's "Brother Forever" sang she got up and started break danceing while he was singing. I am excited for the show, nonetheless, and can't wait til they get to the Top 24 where I really get addicted.

That's it for my little ramble, Have a good one everybody...

My 4th Birthday, Goodbye Yankee Stadium, Penn State Football and the New TV.com

So what if it is a little late!

On September 21, I celebraed my fourth birthday since becoming a member of TV.com in 2005. I have been busy lately with school and soccer so I haven't posted many blogs but I will try to create onhe when something new is going on.

Coincidentally, the last game ever at Yankee Stadium was on my birthday. That make me feel even more special. ;) There are so many Yankees that MLB fans will not forget including Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, Joe Dimaggio, Lou Gehrig, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and many more. R.I.P. great Yankee Stadium.

The Penn State Nittany Lions have not been tested in their first 3 games of the season but they have looked like a national powerhouse and a team that could compete with the nation's best. Darryl Clark and Pat Devlin have looked great and Evan Royster and Stefan Green have looked fantastic, and ofcoure our receivers are great like always. Tonight is the White Out against Illinois which is a very key game for us this season. We Are...

Lastly I would like to issue my comments on the New TV.com. First what I like: The new toolbar/header at the top of the page. I also like how the episde, cast, trivia, etc. header on the side of episode guide pages are. I also like the new what's on tonight schedule. What I don't like, the site is now a little slower, I can't rate episode other than every .5, I don't like the look of the episode guide themselves. They are too white and the episodes, cast, trivia, notes, etc. don't pop out to the eye like they used to. So it is a little rougher on the eyes if that sounds better to you. That's all for me today guys and girls, have a good one!

Vacation and Family Reunion

I'm back...again!

I got back yesterday from my vacation in North Carolina with my aunt, uncle, and cousin. It was the right temperature every day of the week but there was quite a bit of rain. I missed the pool/beach three days because of rain, but it was still a nice week. When I got back to the burgh I went straight to my family reunion which I missed the first 3 hours of. But hey, fashionably late. :P The reunion was very small but still fun. After the reunion I went to dinner with my parents and uncle, aunt, and cousins, not the same ones I went to N.C. with.

In other news, the Buccos traded Nady and Marte to the Yankees for 4 minor leaguers. The only high point for us is that our outfield is still loaded. Nady will be missed for his bat and arm, but we have Jason Michaels and our only good minor league prospect, Andrew McCutchen. However our pitching is good when our bats are not and are bats are good when our pitching is not. We lost four straight to Colorado before winning four straight then dropping the next three. We must win three of the next four with Colorado after being swept by them two series ago.

That's all folks!

I'm a Duke! Well, not really!

Level 42

With my 20+ submissions yesterday I finally arrived at level 42, General Lee. I did not watch the Dukes of Hazzard, but I know that General Lee is the car they drove on the show. Next up level 43. Wonder what that one is?

Janne Pesonen

The Penguins just picked up Finland's top scorer. He led his Finnish team to their fifth Championship last year and scored 70+ points in 50+ games. The only thing that might be a problem is having him play a full season. Coming from the Finnish League where a single season consists of 50+ games to the NHL where it is 82 games, that could be a minor problem. Evgeni Malkin had the same oriblem his first year but look how he came back the next. Led the Pens to the Stanley Cup while Sid was out with an injury.

Another Fanatic Blog!!!

I know I haven't blogged much this year, but when I find the time too I never really have big news. So right now I am just bloggin for the point of blogging. My summer has been boring, just the way I like it. I went to Florida for a week, it was a lot of fun. Now I am just sleeping in, and doing nothing. This weekend is my mom's family reunion. And the week after is my second vacation this summer. I am going to North Carolina with my Uncle, Aunt, and Cousin. I am going with them because this year is my Prent's 25th anniversary and they wanted to go away alone so I am going away with my cousin and his parents for a week. And because my parents have yet to book anything It looks like two weeks after that vacation they will go away and I will go into pittsburgh for a week.

In other news the Pirates are starting to slide down the ladder as they are now 6 below .500. Now many of you know if we have a losing season tis year we will make MLB history for longest losing season streak. If that doens't make you want to come out each and every night and get a win for your ball club then I don't know what will. This is not the kind of history you want to make. And last night another great starting pitching performance was thrown down the tube when Ken Griffy Jr. hit a pinch hit two run homerun in the bottom of the ninth to win the game. And what makes it worse is that the MLB's leading pitcher in the strikeout category is our opponent tonight. For a team that hasn't scored over 4 runs in 3 straight games, it doesn't look good.

Well that's about it, thankis for checking out the blog. Feel free to leave comments or pm me. I always check the site out each day for a little.

Worst Sports City Ever!!!

Well I couldn't hold it in any longer. Detroit just pi$$ed me off too much. I hate this city when it comes down to sports, and if I cared any great deal about politics and economy I would probably hate it in many other aspects as well.

Now I am not just saying this because the Wings are beating my Pens 3-1 right now. I have no problem with the teams here, just their fans and their media. I go to school in Michigan and my friends are all over me. Not in the friendly jeering way, but a weird and stupid way. Before the series I had ten kids ask me if I thought the Penguins had a chance. Gee Let me think we were 2 goals from tieing up the series in the last game and they are my favorite team, what do you think braniac. The second stupid thing I have heard is them asking me if I was going to watch the game on Friday night. Well if they followed the series they would have known it was not on Friday but on Saturday. The last thing tht ticked me off was a friend of mine asked me if it was "Sidney" or "Sindey" Crosby who played for us and after I told him it was "Sidney" he told me he had as many goals as him.(In case you were not sure this was before game 3) I wanted to say, "but he knows how to pronounce his name!" but I had more respect and didn't say it. so other than the wings fans it is mainly all of the rest of their fans too. In spring training I was being told how the Tigers were already World Series Champions and Miguel and Dontrelle were just making it official. Well 2 months into the season the Pittsburgh Pirates, Florida Marlins, and Tampa Rays all have better records. And if you are not familiar with the MLB they are more than seven games under .500. So what are they saying now, well I'd tell you if I knew, but sadly they are so fairweathered fans here that they act as if the Tigers aren't a team anymore. This Royals or Pirates, or any other sports franchise you can think of is ovr 100% better than Detroit fans. I couldn't think of a least deserving city for a great sports franchise then Detroit!

The last thing about Detroit that makes me hate the city when it comes to sports is it's media. I got home today put on the news. Not ESPN, FSN, or ESPNews but NBC or in Detroit the Local 4. So I put it on and from 5 :00 PM to 7:00 I heard nothing but the same exact preview from 10 different newscasters at the Joe Louis Arena about tonight's game. It would be nice if we could get an actual preview but Detroit is too good for that and we get 10 differnt peopl telling us how it would be nice to win the Cup in Detroit and not Pittsburgh. I felt like a 10 year old produced the news. And btw, the news was like this on every channel and has been for the last week and a half.

Sorry to waste your time but Detroit has wated weeks of my life!

March Madness(Not just the Basketball!)

Wow, this is my first blog this year!!! I haven't really had anything important to blog about but I have a few things to rant about right now so I guess this would be a good time for it.

First off thanks to maritimer00 I am now a trusted contributor for the 2008 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament guide. If you got the time and know a tidbit or so don't be afraid to submit it. Also wish to talk about it check out the forum there or on the sports board.

Next off...

Go Giants! Yes it may have been a while ago but the New York Giants have won the Super Bowl within my last blog. Boy did I root for them too. I am not a Pats fan, sorry Tom.

Now two seasons are beginning, MLS and MLB.

My picks for the Major League Baseball Season are as follows:

American League
Red Sox
Tigers
Angels
Indians

National League
Mets
Brewers
Padres
Cardinals

World Series
Indians over Mets*

* indicates I chose the Indians over the Tigers becasue if the Tigers went to the Series I would get a lot of crap from my friends

For the MLS my picks are:

8 Playoff Teams Regardless of Conference
New England Revolution
Houston Dynamo
Los Angeles Galaxy
Chicago Fire
D.C. United
Chivas USA
FC Dallas
Columbus Crew*

MLS Cup
Los Angeles Galaxy over D.C. United

* indicates my surprise team

On to TV.com and TV related things...

So right now I am level 40 and soon to be level 41. It is pretty neat, because the Level 40's were always like the 50's and 60'sare right now and I was like 20 or 25 so I have come a long way. I should be fixing my guides up in the summer. Hopefully finally completing many of them. Alot are just adding recaps and cast. One guide I have to add episodes though.

I have become a bit of a reality buff so for American Idol I was glad to see Amanda and Chickezie go. My favs rioght now are David Cook, Michael Johns, Kristy Lee Cook, and Brooke White.

The celebrity Apprentice was named tonight and it was
Piers Morgan
I wasn't upset with the decision as the winer did win the most and that was the game. The loser was who I was rooting for, he is just an all-around good guy.

Don't Forget the Lyrics is the other reality show I watch. I try to catch it when it is a celebrity but when it is just a normal person I don't go out of my way and flip from Smallville or another show I like to view it.

Onto my more sought after shows. Right now I am an official Season 4 Lost Fan. The whole Lost in 8:15 video helped a ton. I now know all I need to be with most of the other regular fans, not any of those speculators though. Smallville is another show I watch. I have not followed it very closely this season but the last two episdoes have been pretty good. Especially tonight's. I really didn't care about the Brainiac storyline as much tonight as I did the Veritas and Lex storyline. That kept me watching. The Last Show still going on right now that I have been watching is the new Eli Stone. For a guy that isn't a law fanatic this show keeps me watching. The upcoming episodes look juicy!

Kyle XY just ended last week, and maybe my hopes were a little high, but I expected more from this season. The cliffhanger with Amanda was alright but it was someone from Latnok, or even harder to believe maybe Tom Foss. hy maybe he needs her to stop distracting Kyle from him. What do you think?

Thanks to all who visited! Leave me comments! Suggestions! Or Anything Else!

Party Like It's 2008!

Less than 2 hours away from 2008 I would like to wish everyone all the best in the upcoming year. Sorry I haven't blogged much or visited anyone's blogs the past few months I'll try to get around more in the '08.

Happy New Year,

Merry Christmas...Eve!

It is Christmas Eve today. This year we are actually going out for dinner instead of having our family Christmas Eve dinner. This is the first time we have gone out for Christmas Eve that I can remember.

I am now on Christmas Break from school. I go back on the 7th I think but I am not sure. I'll let everyone know howmy break is going tomorrow and then when I get back from Pittsburgh after the New Year's. Hope everyone's holiday is great!

What to watch for on Christmas Eve: WWE Monday Night Raw: Tribute to the Troops on USA Network at 9:00 EST

Don't worry if you don't like wrestling or fighting. When they visit the Troops on Christmas as they have done the past 3+ years it is filled with clips of the stars visiting with the troops. I'd say an hour's worth in the show is reserved for clips of the stars with the troops. There is so many clips becasue the wrestlers are there for a more than one day so they go to visit those injured in the hospitals, they check out the weaponry, sign autographs, and much more. The troops always enjoy it. So even if you don't like wrestling fgive tonight's episode a chance. It is done all for the troops and is a very kind gesture, especially during the holiday season. Last year when they were putting up the makeshift arena mortars exploded down the street. That is how close they are to the fighting. I think this should be the one episode advertised for wrestling each year on TV.com, it's a shame it isn't. But the staff is gone at this time so it isn't their fault.

Merry Christmas

Merry Kwanzaa
Happy Holidays

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well it's Turkey Day and I am still at home. We are leaving for the Burgh hopefully in the next hour or so. I just wanted to stop by and give a quick shout out. Sorry for no blog in a while. Hopefully I can blog more on the upcoming holiday breaks.
