Need some help in finding a movie I watched when I was kid. Probably late 80s or early 90s (making me about 8 years old or so).

So one day, I was left alone in the house. This allowed me to stay up later than usual. While watching TV, I flipped into Star Movies (I think), and the movie played was extremely violent. I'm pretty sure it was a chinese movie (most likely hong kong), because I'm half japanese, and I couldn't understand a thing, and just read subtitles. I remember the protagonist having godly strength. I recall scenes where his attacks would dismember heads, arms, etc. They would even pierced through body flesh and organs. I also remember it being quite dark (perhaps cuz of my age?), and was set in a jail.

Last night I found a movie called Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky.  The IMDB written summary was pretty on point to what I remember: "A young man with superhuman strength is incarcerated at a prison". This pushed me to look for the movie and watch. And upon watching the movie, I couldn't help but laugh. It was ridiculously innane. I did, strangely, enjoy it though. I can't say 100% that this was the movie I watched as a kid. The kid me felt somewhat afraid and somehow mesmerized. Now, I find myself laughing. There were some scenes that lightly resembled the memory I have. But the feeling was totally wrong. It could have been the fact that what I watched last night was dubbed in ridiculous english (Maybe I should watch the original undubbed one). Or it could also easily be because I'm much older.

Nevertheless, I just want to be sure. What I saw as a kid was much much much darker (I recall the color black and dark blue used frequently). Are there films you know that may be what I'm describing? Was the film I saw as a kid really Riki-Oh?

I use to be a huge Magic: The Gathering player. But that was back in late 90s. The TCG/CCG genre has recently seen a boom in the digital platform, once dominated by obscure developers. Presently giant developers are looking to get a bite in the market. You have Blizzard's Hearthstone, Might & Magic: Duel of Champions, Mohjang Scrolls, SquareEnix's Guardian Cross to name a few. The market is so big that even the developer Mobage have released several card games. The surge of digital tcg/ccg is indicative that there is a huge market for these types of games.

But before I decide to invest in any game, I'd like to know what is the most popular and competitve card game out there? I want to get into a card game that is worth investing into, rather than into "just another one of them" game cash cows. I want a card game that has a solid competitive community. I want a card game that has a solid legitimate functioning market. I want a card game that consistently host large tournament with prizepools to be had. I want a card game that has a life cycle that will exceed 10 years from today.

I've tried finding solid sources online with data about the traffic into these card games, but there seem to be very little information about this. So for those who are already invovled and invested in a game, I'd like to hear your opinion on which card game is worth playing.

Most of the server issues are fixed now and it's only getting better, stop hating for the sake of hating.

Nah, you're just stuck-up in the old ways man. World is changing, so are the games. Learn to adjust to the environment. Don't expect future games to cater to your old-fashion thinking. Sure its rough, but its all part of advancing technologies. What we all are going through is an evolution of gaming history. Don't worry about it though, cuz like all changes there are always the whiners. You're jsut playing your role.

Then again, you can really vent your frustration in a more appropriate place.

Legend of the Cryptids. Just recently released for the Android. It is very similar to RoB, except it has free trade! No silly bazaar joke. No guild/fellow 2-weeks waiting period. Economy is way better compared to the extremely inflated RoB economy.

If you do, you will love this CCG/TCG available for FREE in the Android system. The game is called "Legend of the Cryptids".

The card game concept is very simple, to have the strongest deck out there. but things become more complex as you join a guild and participate events up against other players who also strive to be the best. to continue getting stronger you begin to wade through hundreds of thousands of players in search for better cards to buy or trade. this creates an in-game economy which is very dynamic and requires some brains and finesse to successfully deal w others.

Cards you collect can be evolved together to create powerful cards. Upon reaching its full evolution (up to 2 times, and some special cards up to 11 times!), you can work on enhancing the card to even further boost its atk/def and the intensity of its abilities. However enhancing can be done at any point of the evolution of which will create an even stronger final form if enhanced more frequently throughout its evolution.

Give the game a shot. it is pretty simple at the beginning, but as you reach lvl 40 the game becomes brutal and fun! use the grind to 40 as your learning exp. At the account creation you have the option to put an "Invite ID" or not. I highly recommend you put one as it helps both yourself and the referrer. you will get one amazing card plus 10,000 ingame money.
