Are you downloading the correct English patch? 

 Im assuming I am, I just typed in Roller coaster tycoon 3 in gamespot, clicked on the downloads and downloaded a patch.

Are you downloading a patch that is incremental, or is an all in one with the latest patch?

 Well the patch title said Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Patch #1 to Patch #3 Patch http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/rollercoastertycoon3/downloads.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=tabs&tag=tabs;downloads
