my Top 10 RPG's

Here is a list of my top 10RPG's... there are still games i have not played so the list will most likely change over time... also it's really hard to choose 10 so it can actually change any day(the first 5 are pretty solid where they are)

1. Skies of Arcadia- This game is epic and one of those experiences you just can't match the feel of. The characters are great and the game still holds a semi-old school RPG feeling that makes it that much more enjoyable

2. Tales of Symphonia- The story is a bit cliche but the amount of twists, humor, and just plain bumps in the road make this one of the most exciting adventures i have ever experienced in a game

3. Final Fantasy 8- If your mature enough to appreciate romance this is the best game for it. The characters relationships are developed amazingly and just the character development in general is the best i have seen in a game. This is one of those games that hold it's own unique feel with its great soundtrack, writing, and all around style.

4. Morrowind- When it comes to the more western style RPG's Morrowind is my all time favorite. It has such a dark mysterious feeling that no other game has matched in quite the same way. The world is massive and there is so much to discover from random caves and ship wrecks to drug addicts in bars ;D The game really puts you in a believable world where not everything is perfect and not everyone is good or bad.

5. Fable 2- many fans of fable 1 didn't like this game and i don't understand it. I think the game tops the first in many ways that only improve it... there are some small things i wished had stayed the same as the original but all together i think it's an improved package and one of my all time favorite RPG's... if 2 had not been made the first would take it's place on this list... as a fan of the Zelda series it's nice to see similar gameplay twisted into a more mature and humorous game that revolves around combat more than puzzle solving. i can't wait to play Fable 3

6. Harvest Moon Back to Nature- This game may not be considered an RPG to many people but by my definition it is. Before Magical Melody came out Harvest Moon Games were generally pretty good and the series still remains one of my all time favorites even with all the crap that has been released in the last few years. back to nature is the best of the best.... It was the most challenging, addictive, and rewarding gameplay in the series and i recommend this game to anyone who has not yet played a game in the harvest moon series. (you might want to try Harvest Moon 64 to save money ;D)

7. Tales of Legendia- This game didn't get nearly as much credit as it deserves. It's gameplay and style might stray away from the traditional Tales game and the dungeons and enemies may get a bit repetitive at times... but i have never played a game with such great characters that make it well worth your time. The game has one of the best stories i have ever played through which surpasses everything on this list (FF7 is the only game i know of that beats it storywise)

8. Final Fantasy 9- The writing in this game is better than any game i have ever played(the only game i can even compare it to is Grandia) i can go through a town talking to every single person without getting even a tad bit bored. the game is humorous and keeps you playing if only to see the next conversation the characters have..

9. Chrono Cross- This game is one of the most beautiful i have ever played. the art style alone is reason enough to play it... but far from the only reason. it's another one of those games with a wonderful unique feeling to itself that cannot be matched. the gameplay is different enough from a traditional turn based rpg to feel completely fresh. The game has tons of great characters who are both entertaining and playable

10.Rune Factory Frontier- Honestly, this game may not be in my Top ten for long.... there are many games i have a really hard time choosing between... but this game was a recent one i played for my Wii and is definitely in my top 5 games of this year.(probably 2nd) Rune Factory mixes Harvest Moon gameplay with a type of action RPG combat, it is extremely addicting, challenging, and rewarding. there are multiple goals and so many things to work on at once it can be overwhelming yet it is a great thing giving you so much to do and plan. for a Wii title the game is beautiful... actually for any console... even with the Wii's limited graphics the game is great to look at... the art style creates a magical feel that really puts the game in its own world that in no way merges with any other series or singled out RPG
