With a not so clever title! :o
Yeah, hey everyone, long time no see, I hope you've all had a wonderful time graduating/becoming a senior/junior/sophmore/freshman/ going to school/ getting a job/ getting married, etc. etc. Hopefully, you're all enjoying the summer and doing whatever the heck it is you're doing. During my 2 months absence, a lot has happened. After enduring 4 years of college, I now have an associate's of applied science in computer information systems. WHOO! :D That was back in May. Also, I didn't get the internship at the local electronics store, however, I was able to work with the school IT team at school. I had to put in 50 hours of work, and was done in about two weeks. And now, I am preparing to take driving lessons. Should be fun!
Anyway, I've bought two new games back then as well, for my 360. First, Red Dead Redemption:
I am not a big fan of westerns. Never was. However, playing a western on the other hand, was an amazing experience. Lots of gunslinging action, the grit of the old wild west, and an amazing story, come together for a great game. I haven't had the chance to play online however. (Makes me want one of those 360s w/built in Wifi.) But, no matter.
Alan Wake was another I've been looking forward to. The day I set to purchase it, I was lucky enough to grab one of the Limited Collecter's Editions. :) Along with the game, it includes two bonus discs, one a game soundtrack, the other has avatar awards, themes, and unlockable in-game commentary.
On to the game! It is fantastic, it's no Silent Hill, but it truly drags you into its dark, suspenseful world. It's a fun, atmospheric game, and has lots to be explored. It's storyfeels something like an episode of LOST or 24, and plays much like a tv series. For those who enjoyed Silent Hill: Shattered Memories but wanted much more to it (such as combat) will love Alan Wake. The ending alludes to a sequel, perhaps more to the series, that I will be looking forward to.
All right, it's late, but I'm sure lots of you are still up, especially those of you on the other side of the globe. There's something I find especially funny I must share. When I received my special edition of Year of the Black Rainbow it came with a DVD containing footage of the band in the studio. I finally got around to watching it a day ago. After a scene transition, you see one of the producers working on one of the sound programs. This electronic beat starts looping, and after a few seconds, Claudio starts rapping about cheeseburgers. It is so funny, if you're a Coheed fan and haven't seen it, well, here's the link!WARNING! Contains cursing! D:
Daw, I hit a link and lost all the crap I typed up! Dosen't that just irk you!? >:(
I lost some great thought-provoking stuff here!!! >: AAAAAARRRRRGGRGRGGGHGGHGHHGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
...:P so it wasn't much, but it was important to me anyway. :(
...as I was saying, DonkeyKong Country...Returns. I'm having mixed feelings on about this one because they're reviving a series that was the first I've ever played. I'm happy to see a new DK game go in this direction again, I just hope it can live up to the previous three. They are my childhood favorites and still are.
...I left my tv on the Discovery channel. Overhaulin' is on...and a red jeep. Popeye's animal friend. Speaking of old cartoons, anybody remember Gumby? Anybody? I really hope somebody does. :( I used to watch it on Nickelodeon back in the 90's. Actually, all I ever watched back in the 90's was Nickelodeon. Or the Disney channel, before it became horrible. Also, the Busy World of Richard Scary. :) Ah, good times, good times. But now, it's 2:02 AM!
I wish I could think of some more things to reminisce and laugh about, but I'm at a loss. Before I end up messing up another good entry, I'm leaving. Forever! :o
...for another two months. Or something. :P I dunno. I'll be back at a later date. G'night. :)
