Hey guys, now tat we've sold over 12 million copies on the PC, we're going to drop the on-line DRM for you so you can mod the game and make it more like you would have wanted Diablo 3 to be... said no one at Blizzard ever.
@Gelugon_baat I agree, a game with no marketing whatsoever getting more votes than ones made by reputable racing game makers means that everyone hated it because it is a bad game and only an insignificant number of die hard subjective fans voted for it.
This has to go down with 1Up's review of A Vampyre Story in the history of "Most off the ball reviews ever". And just like that one, it gets added to Metacritic for some reason a sane person will never understand.
Seriously, it takes either wining one race, or getting enough points to get out of last place in the rankings to unlock weapons. The maps have some very challenging shortcuts that offer a great advantage if you navigate them, the game does recognize a controller in XInput mode, you just have to map the buttons since the default is Direct Input, the graphics look better than Unbounded did, you can actually see where you're going.
The only thing I agree upon is it's poor pacing. They should really fix that, unlocking Tire 2 can become a chore.
As for the rest, hope you never have to review a game from a company that has a PR department, cause even if the editor has your back, like he should, work like this is just plain lazy and demeaning to people who actually put some effort into reviewing, like me.
It's your right to have an opinion on the game, even if it's the wrong one, but when doing a review that gets added to that Meta-monstrosity, at least try to do the work first, properly. Please, from one reviewer to another, try harder.
