@unclejohn0525: Apologies but you missed the ten minutes before this where the main character monologues about throwing the boulder at the roof, before actually throwing it.
@mattwoahyeah: I hate to say it, but I agree. Not because of the art style, though. If anything, the visual style is exactly what all anime has going for it. It's often incredibly appealing. But it's the scenarios that lack any sort of grounding, and obnoxious characters/insufferable voice acting that hold anime back. Here's my impression of an anime scenario:
"Did he seriously just throw a boulder through the roof of this cave? You kiddin' me!?," one character says, incredulously.
"Ha. So the crazy bastard really did it. He threw the boulder through the roof of this cave. You dog" another character says in an aloof manner, smirking, with his gaze angled downward.
I've created a totally clichéd scenario here, but I defy anyone to tell me I haven't just captured the totally unrelatable essence of anime in a general sense here.
