PAC MAN!!!!!!
I mean, your discresion, they are very different games. I'm planning on getting both, but COD 4 is a more refined shooter with excellent multi-player, where Mass Effect has the story and exploration, but no multi. If you plan on playing lots of multi get COD 4, but if not get ME.
i would not buy a game with bysexual and homosexual aliens in it even if someone gave me enough money to buy it.WiiNut6493
LOL there's more to it than that.
Scores may help uniformed consumers purchase games that they will get their monies worth out of, but for an avid gamer that keeps on gaming news and features, scores should almost be irrelevant. Hearing, or reading reviews make sense to get a feel for what the game will play like, and you can watch movies to see visuals and other game play aspects, where as a number will mean very little to you once you start playing.
I know that scores will amount to awards at the end of the year, and properly place it on gaming lists, but feeling dissapointed about how a game got 9.5 instead of a 10 seams kind of a waste of time.
Still though, congrats to Mass Effect.
[QUOTE="under_achiever"]I think that the big fuss is that the Halo series is a gateway game. It connects gamers and non-gamers together in the onlince scene, with a great game that will be played for many years. It was so popular because it appealed to mass market consumers, and wasn't just a lame casual game that other developers try to expand the market with.GameServant
tbh I see no connection at all that it can make.. really gears of war or WoW is much more popular and they got there without huge budget on commercial revenue, or maybe I dont get what you are trying to say.. whatever it is just another awesome fps nothing else but why all the fuss again? and maybe because of seing all the posters on the streets and commercials on TV you got the idea of connecting gamers with "the rest".
What I was trying to say is that this game was a little more overhyped than others, so that people who aren't tapped into gaming related news would know about it. I'm sure that many people were anticipating this game for a long time, but many people weren't even aware that it was coming out until a few weeks before its release, and only then, because of the commercials. My father is a good example as he just found out about the game the day before its release because of one of the model commercials. I'm not saying that it wasn't hyped normaly, just that as a game that appeals to all types of people, it had to be marketed as such.
