This is a subject that I have wanted to talk about for a long time now and I think its time for you guys to share some of my frustrations. I got my 360 November 22, 2005 that's right launch day with Call of Duty 2 awesome game I was very happy with my purchase and felt that I had a gaming console that was going to last me for at least five years. Xbox Live was awesome but kinda sucked the first year because only one of my friends had bought a 360 during launch like me and he bought Call of Duty 2 also the online was kinda of sucky but I dealt with it. It wasn't until I got Project Gotham Racing 3 that xbox live really opened up for me I meet a lot friends and quickly filled up my friends list so I had high expectations for future 360 games with Live support. So once 2006 hit I started going on a shopping spree Dead or alive 4, Oblivion, Rumble Roses XX, Ghost Recon, Dead Rising, and the Big one Gears of War. I probably played Gears online more than any other game I owned. It had been a year since I purchased my 360 and I haven't had any problems with it I wasn't planning on purchasing a PS3 until Metal Gear Solid 4 came out. Early 07 was really slow for me the only big two were Crackdown and Guitar Hero II. It was around May that my 360 started acting up, a disk error here or there nothing to serious but on the last week of may it happened while I was playing Gears online with my friends that the screen went fuzzy, I unplugged the video cables and plugged them back in and it stayed fuzzy so I told my friends over the headset that I needed to reset my 360, so I did and soon as I pushed on again there it was the red ring of death I was so pissed. It was eleven O'clock at night so calling Microsoft was out of the question and having to go to work in the morning and getting out until 5:00 PM made me even more angry so I called the next day and was put on hold for over 30 minutes, only to be told that was out of warranty and had to pay 150$ for repairs and with out a credit card I was screwed I had no choice but to buy another 360 I had to save up more money and finally had enough at the end of June, so wasted my weekend searching for a 360 core and found one at a EB games in the mall, try navigating a mall on a weekend I dare you I was so tired by the end of it all that I didn't unbox my 360 until the next day. So I connected my 360 core and attached my HDD and decided to play some Gears of War it worked fine. But no later than 30 minutes it froze on me so Reset the console and what a surprise Red Ring of death only after 30 minutes of play it had to be a record. I had to take it back to EB games and exchange it but there was one problem they didn't have another 360 core so I went for the 360 elite had to pay extra because the elite was more expensive than the core. I had hope that this have solved the problem but it didn't, played gears online for a week and long story short the 360 elite lasted me only a week. So I had to go back to EB games but this time I was going to get my cash back but apparently EB games didn't have enough money to give me so they offered me store credit what the hell am I going to do with 500$ worth of store credit I had no choice and said F it I'll buy a PS3 its only 100 bucks more. So I bought a PS3 with Resistance and man its awesome. Anyways as you can imagine I was wondering what am I going to do with these 30+ 360 games I actually though of taking them to a pawn shop. But I held off and Microsoft annocenced that it was going to extend 360 warranties to three years I was stoked I called, this time I only waited 20 minutes I send my 360 got a brand new one sent back everything was the way it was the only difference is that I also have a PS3. Flash foward to today and my 360 is starting to act up again I've been having problems with disk errors and freezing issues and worst of all it has been deleting my game saves as you can tell My Frustration with the 360 has returned.
