haha yeah i did actually play a bit of forbidden siren, absolutely loved the feel of it, i dunno about the american copy of it but the pal had absolutely awful english voice acting with no option of japanese which was a major bummer, also, i got a good few levels in and i must of done something wrong because i was put back a good few levels, definately gonna start it over again after summer :P and yeah i love anything lovecraft related that ive been exposed to, films like dagon, reanimator etc. him being a total racist kinda put me off reading any of his works tho!
The last game to truly make me jump was Dead space, brilliant game, before that would be Doom 3. but thinking back to when i first played resident evil, when i opened the mansion door only for a dog to pop it's head in biting, that was probably the first time a game ever scared me and i sure as hell didnt expect it, i was like 7 at the time as well :\ (playing it nowadays though it has to be the worst zombie dog graphics i've ever seen haha) then there's the very start of silent hill when you're chasing after meryl with a lighter and you come across that freaky ass wheelchair and then the hospital bed... *shivers* i remember playing the demo of it and it had these little white monsters with knives but when i got the full game they were little brown and red things with massive heads.. can anyone tell me if the american version kept the little white dudes? cuz they were far creepier! lesser known scary games would be call of chtulu, one of my fave games, such an atmosphere, i complete it like once a year now. another underrated one would be alone in the dark 4 (the new nightmare, not that recent embarassment), or maybe its just my memory of it being really creepy, it's been a good 6-7 years since i played it. and of course there's the project zero's, great games. scary games i own but havent played yet are haunting ground, forbidden siren 1 and 2, clock tower 3, curse: eye of isis, resident evil 0, and eternal darkness, so even though i cant recommend them yet, i'd like to put 'em across and hear people opinions on them :D
hmm looking back, the following games give me nostalgia: Megadrive games: Golden Axe (actually all the games in that 5/6 in 1 megadrive cartridge) dracula Mickey Mania Batman Forever Snes: Legend of Mystical Ninja (goemon or whatever it was called) Starfox All the marios obviously Clayfighter (lmao) Killer instinct (BIG nostalgia, remember how cool the music was in that game!?) PSX: Fade to Black (crap but brings back memories lol) GTA pandemonium Rally Cross One (i think it was called) tekken 1-3 FF7-8 Wild 9 medevil Resident Evil 1-2 Tomba N64: Starfox 64 Ocarina of time (Duh) So yeah these are the games i remember, or maybe just owned back in the day. lots of obvious choices, and some not nessecarily games everyone else will think are worthy of being remembered but there you go, thats why we have opinions :D
