I have every MGS game out. I recently started playing MGS3 Snake eater again. That game is from the golden age of gaming, they never get old. You will enjoy it if your a fan of the genre. Each game is unique in it's own, and trust me, if you like MGS4 you will go gaga over the collection. Heck, I'm buying it just because it's the HD version of the game and will look better. Collecting all the unlockables, replay value, amazing character design and detail for aged games, watching amazing stories unravel. But if your not into that kind of stuff then you may want to pass.I dont have an HD tv, but I have also never played MGS games..well i played MGS4, thats all.
Would the MGS collection be a smart buy? My main concerns are that its too old to enjoy and , without an HD tv, they are gonna look ancient. Plus, that peacewalker is gonna feel limited because it was a portable game
What do you guys think?

[QUOTE="Essian"][QUOTE="MethodManFTW"]Luckily if you have friends (that play video games) that isn't a problem.MethodManFTWif you have at least 6 friends, I would agree, but even with a group of 3 or 4 friends to play with, this can still be a huge issue, because 3-4 coordinated people with 8 morons who pick their noses and do nothing are no match for a team of 10-12 people actually trying to complete an objective. Further proof that morons ruin video gamesLol dude, you sound so upset. I haven't played a ton of MP, I think I'm about up to level 20 at this point.. And I have had a good experience playing with randoms.. I honestly have NO IDEA what you are talking about. My friend bought BF3 for PC and thought he could face roll to victory. He has been playing a majority of his MP games on console, so I doubt he didn't know about the lack of aim assist. Safe to say, he qq and cried and cursed BF3 and claimed it to be the worse game he's ever played and all he did was play TDM. If you play a game with bads, guess with, it happens. It happens all over. If you have a team full of bads on COD you still loose, but people don't qq that much because they can try and keep up their KDRs. So no, unfortunately that doesn't make COD better than BF3. It just explains that people are bad at FPS and games like COD makes it easier for them to feel like they are good.
[QUOTE="bub166"]...maybe even the GBC version of MGS will make an appearance. ;)El_Zo1212oHere's hoping! Man was that ever a good game! That maybe a deciding factor @.@
You can't get a strait answer honestly. You have to expect some favoritism when picking between the two. That being said, MW3 is an arcade shooter, if your looking for accessibility, then that is your game. BF3 is a little more challenging with a steeper learning curve. So it's all about your gaming play style. If your looking for pick up and play multiplayer go MW3, if your looking for more in depth multiplayer go BF3. With the way FPS are today, Expect MW3 to push you along the way, and BF3 to just throw it at you head on. I got tired of the COD franchise and it is apparently becoming the madden of FPS. Releasing a sequel every year is bad. I prefer BF3 because it's refreshing, challenging, and addictive. Both have OK Single player, both kinda short. But I'm pretty sure that the majority are concerned with the multiplayer part.I got money just to buy one so i need reasons that make each game worth of purchasing
Rules:
1. Dont talk about the other game, just say why you like the one that you like :)
2. Talk about the bad of the game you like too.
3. Dont be a fanboy.
Thanks in advanced for the help, i will appriciate all ofyour comments

Well all FPS games are tending fallow the same outline when playing online and single player. Rarely has a game stepped out of the similar and reinvent it, partly because it is hard to do, but mostly because the lack of innovation. Have you ever remembered playing a game and spotting a cliche somewhere? Whether it be the lack luster AI, reused game mechanics, Cheap weapon thrills? All games feature that red eye blurring thing which is beyond me, if you ask me it's a tool used to favor camping/players gaining advantage on you(Just a random thought, don't take it to heart, i rush alot XD). You play a game for what a few hours before it gets old? COD is unfortunately the only game you can really group in there because name any other shooter as influential or note worthy as COD. Hell, even when it comes to reviews, players pick apart the game to the finest detail. BF3 got an 8.5 and the GS editorial staff said oh no thats not a big dea. But chances are when COD comes out it will get a 9. And although that .5 is minute, people look to it because games are so similar that when someone tries to break the mold, it's hard for them to be recognized because it usually means the game is either harder, or has a steep learning curve. I can only name 3 games that I have played consistently outside of COD, Resistance 1 and 2 and drake 2 for multilayer. Being that I've been on Xbox for almost a year since my Ps3 died, and to me GOW3 is butt, and I never got into halo. But we are on a larger scale, since both me and you probably do favor more games compared to most, we have to look at how it's viewed publicly.IDK, SP has always sort of been the same throughout the years (well, some are easier/shorter than others). MP is really just as hard as the community you're playing against. BF seems to offer some really good MP (even if the SP isn't the highlight in it or the BC spinoff).
What are some examples that you think have ruined the fps market (excluding the COD games after COD4 and the newest MOH)?

TBH, with all the easy mode fps games out there, it was in desperate need of saving. Some games come close of doing a good job, but you should see the youtube video "If Quake was done today", it outlines how games are just being made just to attract players to an image, without provide a true challenge or test of skill. But the fps genre was never really in need of saving. That being said, I'm definitely looking forward to being able to play against PC users and have the option to use mouse/keyboard if I so choose to.

I bought the metal gear solid grey ps3 bundle a while ago but I never use it since i already have a good ol black ps3. im thinking, since i've only used it a few times and then put it back in the box, should I sell it on ebay or keep it around and see if it increases in value?kirby925That's a good looking Ps3. Did that come out when Ps3 still played Ps2 games? If so, try it. I doubt it would go up in value. Not to many ppl would value anything as a collectors item if it was open. A ps3 is still a Ps3 though.
Who plays FPS for the single player? There's a story in there? Most people forgot how epic single players can be... It's good to see some people still try. Just got my Ps3 fixed and this is on my buy list. R3 here I come!Just finished it, it's amazing. Unfairly reviewed, not here but overall.
