@galva86: Same. My least favorite game by them was Rage, and it was still a solid shooter. I'm sure the new Doom will at least be decent. I just want it to be amazing.
I'm a bit worried about this game. Movement is pretty slow compared to the originals, the scripted kills don't fit the fast paced gameplay they say they are going for, and the game has an ugly yellow filter over everything. The last one is pretty minor, I admit, but the first two are cause for concern.
@Xristophoros: The game isn't a shallow, politically correct "cinematic experience" that holds their hand so of course the critics don't like it. It's also not a AAA western game so they tore into it for being glitchy while giving Fallout 4 a pass despite being in much worse shape.
@bluefox755: The characters are all one-dimensional clichés, the attempts at humor are weak, and there's very little gameplay for a video GAME and like pretty much every Telltale game the choices you make don't really matter. Telltale games are usually mediocre but even by their lowered standards the game is subpar.
The game isn't nearly as bad as it's made out to be. It plays fine once you get used to the perspective switching for shooting, and the game revels in its absurdity. It's mind-boggling that so many reviews claim the game takes itself seriously when it does anything but. There are far too many technical issues for me to call it a good game, but it's decent. Funny how this got torn apart for being a janky mess on a technical level yet Fallout 4 got praised by the same people despite being just as sloppy. My advice: ignore the critics and if you're interested in the game pick it up once the digital version is on sale.
