The only thing consoles have going for it is accessibility. That's why more casual gamers have consoles, and more casual internet users have tablets over computers. Not that casual gamers make up the entire console gaming community, but it does make up a very large portion of it.

While some people think this way, I for one have greatly enjoyed the 360 live experience much more than psn simply because of xbox live party chat. Just makes it a lot easier to chat with friends and meet their friends and such without even owning the same game, it's all a social aspect but it's great fun and takes nothing away from the gaming experience.
While i agree that people underestimate the power of the Wii U (especially when you consider how launch games looked on previous consoles compared to years after), i also find that some people overestimate it's power to try to defend it. I don't think many people think realistically these days, they're all just trying to defend their own platform of choice. When you compare what the 360/ps3 can do these days, taking into account the Wii U is more powerful (by whatever margin), it's still got hope as long as some damn good games get produced (mostly first party ones i images).
