My biggest complaint about the game is that lots of people keep saying that Axel got fat. The dude isn't fat, it's just the art style, clothing and beard that give that initial impression. Heck, you can even see his abs in the animations, or just look at the character artwork in the extras.

@Barighm: I think it might be a deal where people aren't picking up on enemy patterns or actually understanding and using their characters abilities. I've watched a lot of streams where people don't bother to check the controls or look at the Fighting Tips, and end up making the game harder on themselves, never using Blitz Moves, spamming their Special moves and wondering why they die so fast, walking straight at bosses and punching away when the boss is telegraphing their own moves, not learnign from enemy attack patterns, etc...

It makes sense, BL2 is still the best overall loot shooter available. Some of the newer options might do one or two things better, but overall, if you want fun gameplay, excellent variety of loot, a good story, entertaining side content (sometimes just because of the dialogue from the characters), excellent characters, excellent story DLC (some of which is extremely good, like Assault on Dragon's Keep and the Clap-tastic Voyage), very fun co-op gameplay, graphics that still look good 7 years later, etc.., the choice is Borderlands 2.

The newer loot shooters concentrated too hard on being live service games and not hard enough on having good stories, memorable characters, and fun loot, as far as I'm concerned. And I say that as someone who liked Division 1 and 2 and enjoyed Destiny 2 (after trying it when the game was free).

@UltimateBastard: I think part of the deal was Respawn had set the date for release and couldn't change it, but that would have been fine except BF1 got delayed and then launched in the same window, which was not initially the plan.

@Pyrosa: I do think TF|2 is a better game, but it's not really fair to compare them 1:1 because they are completely different type of games. Apex Legends is excellent in its own right.

"This time, the focus is on teaming up with your friends (and their pets) to hack and slash your way through dungeons together."

Technically, that's a lot of what the first two games were about too. Loved Torchlight 2 and hope this game doesn't stray too far from the ARPG roots that people liked about it. If it's something like hub towns for players to meet and team up in, and instanced dungeons/open world I'd be fine, but if it goes too far into the MMO realm...

@gotrekfabian: Because I want to read what the reviewer thinks about the game based on what they say in the actual article or video, I don't worry about what the score is. I've passed up on a lot of games that were rated a 9 or 10 because the actual review of the game before the score at the bottom of the page told me I wouldn't enjoy it.

@babybossdaboo: The problem with going back to what worked is they then can't find ways of implementing microtransactions.
