@Articuno76 @velmarg See, I always find it hard to take numbers from the company seriously. If you put out a product and take your own "What did you think?" poll, you're not going to release the results if they work against your image. 12% sounds low - it's a concerning number and one Microsoft would take very seriously as is, but my guess is the real number of people who walked away disappointed is at least 20-25%..
By saying 12%, Microsoft is acknowledging the backlash, which is smart, but still showing that a vast majority were happy (or neutral - and I'm sure mostly the latter).
The real showing for we who lurk in forums and comment sections will be E3, but it feels like a slap across the face that the big reveal itself felt so disconnected from and disinterested in the Xbox's core fan base. Combine that with the negative press around the possible always online functionality and their treatment of indie developers, and it's not hard to see why Microsoft has lost a lot of traction in winning affection for its new console.
Time, and E3, will tell, I suppose. In the meantime, who's ready to buy a PS4? Am I right? Am I right?
@Articuno76 I don't know what "figures" you're referring to, but any and every online poll I've seen has shown that a vast majority thought it was disappointing.
Maybe you're referencing some poll Microsoft themselves took? If so, shall I point out that the "applause" you heard during said reveal was that of Microsoft employees, not the press or fans?
Just saying, maybe you should take those numbers with a grain of salt. If you could maybe link us to one of those polls with a positive reaction to the Microsoft announcement, that'd be swell.
Funny how there's no mention here of how everyone thought, "Man, I'm so excited... I... okay, TV. Alright... I guess that's... okay, more TV. And then Skype. Alright... how about some gameplay? How about... okay, Halo TV show, more TV, I get it, cool... I mean, I have cable at home, I don't really... oh, for ****'s sake, sports? More fucking TV? Alright, alright... I... yes! Gameplay, here we go... I... Call... of Duty. God... dammit, I don't... Who cares? It's fucking multi-platform anyway! And Battlefield 3 looks better! I... that... that's it? I want my hour back. I'm buying a PS4. This was the worst reveal of all time."
Fox isn't a newcomer to SSBB, chief... I'm sure they purposely try to make the list somewhat diverse in its content. You only see one guy saying Halo 3, but you damned well that more than half of them care about nothing else that's coming out this year. MGS4's absence shouldn't be a huge surprise, given the site's obvious bias toward the 360. Gears of War, 9.6 - Game of the Year? Only if you have crap taste in games.
