OMG what has happened to Strictly? I've been MIA from any kind of technology for about 10 days and what on earth is going on with this show!?
Firstly I'll get this gripe off my chest - Why has Cherie gone!? I haven't seen the Saturday show but I do know Cherie scored higher than Lisa with the judges for her Cha Cha Cha and I know on average her scores were greater then Lisa's so what the frak happened there? Cherie was the better dancer, she has gone absurdly early, sacrificed by the public for the likes of John FFS or Jodie. And I'm not gonna lie I'm severely disappointed that I'll never see Cherie Tango, I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to that.
Now this whole John controvsy which got bloody "breaking news" today on the beeb (I mean FFS it's not like the Queen's abdicating or anything) makes Cherie's departure utterly pointless. John stayed at her expense, and instead of doing the best he can for the warped British public out there who have voted to see him dance instead of Cherie, he's quit. QUIT. Cherie has gone for nothing and I can't tell you how mad I am. Strictly is really truely jumping the shark.

It all started last year with the decision to have the ghastly Sunday results show and the dance-off which I've uttely hated to watch. It gives the judges more of a say than they should have. 50% Judges 50% public. as. if. The power given to them by the beeb has inflated their egos and their belief in their own self-importance to the show. It's clear they have favourites, they try to push them onto the public with there ever increasing opinions on who should be staying, and the public rightly rebel - via Kate last year and now John. This constant battle between the judges and the public means that there are fantastic dancers out there like Cherie being lost for no good reason and I'm so frustrated with the whole thing.
SCD is just not the same, and I never thought I'd say this but it should get pulled by the BBC as it's reaching levels of absurdity that I'd never thought I'd see. This is no longer the fantastic family entertaiment show I'd plan my Saturday night's round. It's a beast of a show, it's the judges show, everything revolves around them and the controvesy they cause. The attention of SCD is no longer on that of the dancing which has become depressingly SCDs biggest and saddest casualty and I'm sick to death of it.

SCD is over. I mean will SCD 6 be remembered for who wins? No, who even cares now? I don't. It's the great John Vs Judges debacle of '08. Sure makes ratings but it's cheap entertainment to see people bicker.

Now I'm climbing off my soap box to go and mourn the loss of a truely great premise.

Oh and hell I'm posting this to make me feel better has nothing to do with SCD but at least one of my shows is heading in the right direction. Thank God for House.

God I hope they get it on again by Christmas I need something to lift my fangirly spirits.
