I'm reading: 'In Search of the Multiverse" by John Gribbin and have been for the last 40 years I think. I don't get much time to read.

I said that my best era was 1984-1989 due to the Master System and NES, that was personally my favorite era. However I actually think the best era for consoles as a whole would probably be the '16 bit' Megadrive and SNES era. That was when consoles were at their peak and as Allicrombie stated, nothing has been able to touch them since. Folowing on from then some of the magic seems to have gone and games just don't seem to age as well.

[QUOTE="velvetkloud"]You have to get all 3 if you can (or all 4 if you have a master system or a master system converter for number 1) and play them in order. The stories are all connected, they are all awesome and have enough of their own merits to make each of them worth playing.Panzer_Zwei

The story from Phantast Star III isn't connected actually.

Apologies, I didn't mean the actual stories within the games I meant that they are all connected through being the same 'universe' at different points in history.

Favorite era: 1984-1989 Favorite console: Sega Master System Forgotten/underrated game: Kung Fu Kid Favorite character: Psycho Fox (From Psycho Fox, obviously) I loved this time, just when home gaming was really taking off with the NES and Master System. The Master System will always be my favorite console.

Atari 2600 with space invaders and combat. My grandad bought it for when I stayed over there and I eventually inherited it. I stil have it too, though the reset button is knackered!

Good god I hated the star wars games on the SNES! Definately Zelda, Mario and Metroid. Those should be your first port of call.

If you want to play the definitive version of double dragon then go for the master system one. No, my mistake, it was an abomination...

Both are great but if you want story and complete absorbtion I would have to say Mass Effect. Bioshock would be the way to go if you fancy something with more action, it's just a lot less involving.

This is impossible! I would probably have to go for Fallout 2. Though could I count Head over Heels now you can get a remake of it on the PC? That's probably the game I have played through the most times.
