In the UK, it states that it's timed out but there's still internet connection. I think this is due to PS Home is updating therefore maintainance is taken place (in case you're thinking it's another hacking scandal). I dunno why Sony couldn't just display informative message(s) telling us what's actually going on rather than same old error message (i.e. they could've have a note displaying on "What's New" section)

I've been using AA batteries for my controller for over 2yrs, & recently it's been acting up (even when using brand new batteries) it just flashes rings & disconnects.

So I've bought 'Play & Charge' kit, at the moment it works like a gem, but the annoyance at the moment is that each time I switch off the console via controller when it's still plugged in, it goes on standby mode (I know it does this due to the settings or it's actually charging), but I don't want it to go on standby, so I changed the settings (basically disabled standby download), it works HOWEVER now I've notcied that when I'm watching a DVD (using Xbox 360 Universal Remote), it lights up controller 1 ring, & if I try switching the console off with the remote, it again goes into standby mode (even when the controller is green/fully charged).

In a nutshell, switching off via controller the console switches off normally. Switches off via remote, it goes into standby mode. So how (what settings) do I prevent my console from going into standby mode? I know I can easily just unplug it, but is there another alternative way?

Received an email by Sony yesterday, telling me things that I've already know. Now I'm anticipating another email from them reassuring that everything's fine agian...hopefully.

I think it's normal, as whenever I put in a DVD, it makes a hefty breathing noise but settles shortly afterwards (pretty much matching what you've described).

Same here, it's getting increasingly irritating. I have to literally highlight the text that I couldn't see & paste it into word just to read it.

According to this blog (http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/08/27/playstation-network-maintenance/) you can play online. Haven't tried it though...

I swear I've read a few months back on the Official PS Mag that Skyplayer was in the works...whatever happened to that?

I've got an error in which I am signed out of PSN (8002A220). Due to what happened in the past (with that code), it should be that PSN is going through maintenance. TBH, instead of a code or an error message, just straightforwardly tell us it's going through maintenance than making us worried whether we're banned from PSN for no reason.

I have a situation & hope somebody can help me.

I have the Xbox 360 media remote. My room has ltd of space, between my laptop & my console, it's about 45cm away from each other. Everytime I press the DVD menu button (& sometimes the Skip forward or/& Power button) on the remote it switches on my laptop. Is there a way to stop this (apart from moving the laptop somewhere further away or taking the battery out)?
