It is my belief that this battle of giants will end before it begins. The hype created by the PSP is enough to slow the sales of the DS, just like what happened to Sega's Dreamcast when PS2 was announced. Granted the dedicated gamers will get both, I suspect "mainstream" and new gamers alike will be pulled to Sony's machine for all of the extra features it has. I know many Playstation die-hards will be getting the PSP for brand support. If Sony does well with the launch of the PSP, and they are not defective like so many PS2's, they could have a very high chance of knocking GameBoy off its 2 decade high horse. The DS's only hope is the touch screen software that allows you to scribble notes to your friends. I would have given anything for something like that in elementary school.
