Best Cloud Based Apps

With the amount available media increasing every day, it's harder and harder to find room on your devices to fit your pictures, videos and games. However, thanks to cloud storage, you don't have to fit them on your phone anymore. Here is a list of free apps that will allow you to store data remotely. Amazon Cloud Player The Amazon Cloud Player is the app that made most non-tech people aware of the concept of cloud computing. It offers 5GB of free storage, and you can purchase mp3 albums through the Amazon.com site and have them stream directly to your device from the Amazon cloud. Requires Android 1.6+. You must also be in the USA. Box Box is an app for Android devices that gives you 5GB of cloud storage for free, which allows you to upload and download files whenever you want. Requires Android 2.1+. Dropbox When you download Dropbox, you can sync files on either your computer or handheld device while taking advantage of 2GB of free storage space. Requires Android 1.5+. Google Music Amazon and Google entered an arms race for cloud storage supremacy, and the Google Music app allows you to store 20,000 songs, rather than measuring storage in terms of hard drive space. This app is similar in operation to the Amazon Cloud. Requires Android 2.2+. Mozy Mozy is an automated backup system that sends your data to a cloud drive and stores them there for retrieval later. This app allows you to view photos and documents, play music and videos, and share your files. Requires Android 2.1+ Netflix Instead of storing enormous video files on your phone, use Netflix to stream them using either 3G or Wifi connections. Requires Android 2.2+ Pandora Pandora is a well known internet radio station, and with the app you can stream unlimited music based on your favorite bands. Requires Android 1.5+ PicPlz If you're looking for an Instagram stand in, PicPlz is your best bet for a simple photo editing app. The images can be instantly sent to a Dropbox account, so you don't have to save them on the phone. Requires Android 2.1+ SugarSync If you use SugarSync, it will automatically sync folders to a cloud drive which can be accessed via the app or on the internet. They offer 5GB of free storage. Requires Android 1.5+ TuneIn Using TuneIn Radio you have access to over 50,000 different radio stations, bypassing dealing with the clumsy built-in FM tuner. Requires Android 1.6+ Windows Live SkyDrive The Windows Live SkyDrive offers a whopping 25GB of storage space; however, there are not as many bells and whistles with syncing as other apps. Requires Android 1.6+
