Kind of light on the series X exclusive list this year )Honorable mention to Forza.) but I think it doesn't matter when you have a AAA exclusive console seller like Halo on that very same list.
I would be shocked if Halo: Infinite didn't come away with the top spot on practically every X box exclusive gaming list from almost all the various gaming websites out there.
I don't think anyone would have really thought It takes 2 would nab the top spot but here we are.
I'm glad for the team but if I'm being honest I can't help but feel there are some shannanigans afoot with that call. We all know Geoff has a close relationship with the developer of the game.
BTW, I love his energy and enthusiasm on stage. He has kind of become a re-occuring theme for the VGAs.
It takes Two winning is without question the surprise of the show and I can't help but feel there was something behind the scenes with that decision.
that being said it wasn't the best VGA but it was a huge improvement over last years rendition. That goes without saying.
I did feel certain things were really being pushed hard (VR Occulus, certain ideological agendas, etc...) but overall it was a step up from last years.
The trailers were widespread and diverse and many of the games we had known about from past premiers got more of a chance to really shine so that was nice.
Perhaps things in the world will be back to normal next year and gaming studios will have more to show for 2022's rendition. Overall a solid C+ from me.
Oh, and I can't believe I sat through 3 hours of all of that, lol.
I have a feeling this game is going to be a huge sleeper hit and possibly even a legitimate GOTY contender when it drops.
The gameplay looks top notch and even though it's intentionally being vague about the story I think there will be a lot of surprises in store for those willing to give it a chance.
