Honestly, the reason why so many peoples 360s are breaking, is because they dont take care of it well enough. give it plenty of room to breathe, (if you give it enough room to exhaust all the hot air it greatly reduces the chance of the 360 overheating), make sure theres not too much dust on or around it, and keep it horizontal and you should be fine.army-of_one
You are joking right? I mean if you've never had the red rings I'm happy for you but don't pass this off as some sort of user error. "Honestly" I think you're a jackass or a fanboy or some MS stooge. I'm on 360 #4 since I bought my first console during launch. Thereis definitely a problem with theconsole and its handling ofheat. This really isn't even in question.Go check out the 360 forums....Google "red ring of death"...read about the billions MSwill losebecause of it...the new3 year warranty...the new heat sinks that are being addedto the console....the new chips being put in....the 4-6 week wait to get your "fixed" 360 back due to VOLUME. Exactly where in all of this do you think this turned into user error???? Myflat panel, receiver, cable box, PS3, Wii, laptop, and every piece of electronic equipment in my house seem to be doing just fine. But after all of this your advice is "keep it horizontal and you should be fine." ROTFLMAO!!!! There is enough nonsense on this board please don't add to it.
And to the TC. No, 360's are not reliable. BUT...it is a great console as far as games/Live go. I'd wait and see how the new chips/heat sinks work out and then buy 1 of the newer consoles. If you decide to pick 1 up soon justdon't get upset if itbreaks.
